World Cup hockey: India Suffer Heartbreak As England Clinch 69th Minute Winner

India lost 2-1 after dominating most parts of their second group stage game against England as they conceded a winner in the 69th minute.

India suffered yet another agonising loss after conceding a goal in the 69th minute against England in their second group stage match of the World Cup hockey in The Hague, Netherlands.

With superior possession percentage throughout the game, India dominated England but failed to convert multiple chances of scoring and eventually lost due to their inability to put on a clinical performance.

England were patient and waited for India to make a mistake. They seized their first opportunity of the game by converting their 26th minute penalty corner to take a 1-0 lead against the run of play.

Four minutes later, India's Dharmvir Singh equalised via a field goal to head into half-time with the scores at 1-1.

India continued to dominate possession and played with a lot of attacking intent.

As the game approached it's final moments, it was far more open as the attack switched hands very swiftly.

With just over a minute left on the clock, India conceded a penalty corner and Simon Mantell converted to take England to a 2-1 lead that handed them the game.
