A three-member Indian Golf Union (IGU) team of Gaurika Bishnoi, Ridhima Dilawari and Nishtha Madan were at tied-fourth on Day 1 of the 37th Queen Sirikit Cup Asia-Pacific Invitational Ladies Team Golf Championship here on Wednesday.
The team finished at 147, tied with Australia, with Madan carding the best score for India with level par 72 on a rainy day.
Bishnoi, 17, who scored three-over 75, the same score as her teammate Dilawari, said: "The day was pretty tough owing to the heavy rainfall, but eventually we managed to finish 18-holes. The greens are very fast and sloppy, so tomorrow I will have to work on putting downhill."
Madan, 18, who brought the best card on her debut at the tournament said: "I could have done better but there is nothing to complain as it's my first time at this tournament. I will have to be more careful about my long game and approach shots to the greens so that I can hit more greens in regulations tomorrow and day after."
Host team Hong Kong took top honours at 139 while three teams including New Zealand, the Philippines and Singapore and one player each of Japan, South Korea and Malaysia still have to complete Round 1 as the day was suspended due to inclement weather.
