The 11th and final round of the 2007 A1GP season has brought the teams and drivers to Brands Hatch in England. Friday saw the opening practice sessions.
Oliver Jarvis, who drove the Great Britain team to their first ever A1GP victory in Mexico last month, was the fastest rookie driver in the morning session.
The overall title has already been decided - A1 Team Germany having been crowned champions in Shanghai on April 15th.
In Friday's afternoon practice session, with Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel, they had to settle for fifth place. But there were still fast times - and plenty of thrills - at the British circuit.
A1 Team New Zealand only need four points from the weekend to guarantee second place in the championship.
But they suffered a setback when Jonny Reid careered into the tyre wall, suffering a wrist injury that could rule him out of action for the rest of the weekend.A1 Team Lebanon were involved in a bizarre incident.
Allam Khodair completely lost his bearings and almost crashed into the medical support vehicle as it raced to his aid after a spin.
And then Robbie Kerr, who won the Sprint Race in Shanghai a fortnight ago, was the quickest driver in the afternoon practice session as the home team dominated the start of the Brands Hatch weekend.
Kerr was half second quicker than his rivals on Friday. A1 Team India were second quickest in the afternoon.
Narain Karthikeyan knows the circuit well, and looked confident behind the wheel of the A1GP car.
And A1 Team France, the inaugural winners of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, were third quickest in Friday practice - Loic Duval once more showing his ability.
And even the day's star performer Robbie Kerr got it wrong at the end. The fastest man in the session bounced his car off the track, which brought an early end to proceedings.
