Highlanders to crash the Odisha FC party?
It is time for Match 82 of the Indian Super League and today, we will see Odisha FC host NorthEast United FC. The home team will need full support from their fans in this vital clash against the Highlanders. Odisha FC have a difficult task at hand. They have to win both of their remaining matches if they want to have the slimmest of chances of qualifying for the semi-finals. First up, they will face NorthEast United FC. In Odisha FC's last match, they lost to ATK FC when they were blown away by a Roy Krishna hat-trick. In January, the home team were looking set to finish in the top 4 only to drop off at the worst possible time. They have now lost their last 3 matches, and have their backs against the walls. Odisha FC will have to bounce back and the men who will be bearing the brunt of the responsibility will be mainly skipper Marcos Tebar, and attacking midfielder Xisco Hernandez. They will also be relying on their forwards to convert whatever opportunities they get in the final third. Coming to NorthEast United FC, they started brilliantly but have tailed off after an injury to star striker Asamoah Gyan. It took the wind out of their sails and they have been struggling ever since. In recent games, skipper Federico Gallego has stepped up to the plate, but his performances have borne little fruit as the Highlanders have gained just 2 points off their last 5 matches. The Highlanders played their last match against Jamshedpur FC, which was a scintillating 3-3 draw. The last time NorthEast United FC faced Odisha FC, the Highlanders ran out 2-1 winners and if something like that happens again, it will end the hopes of the hosts reaching the semi-finals. A lot at stake here in Bhubaneswar and we are anticipating an exciting game!
