A very entertaining game!
Wow! A much-needed breather for both, the players and for us! What a game, 6 goals in total and it never seemed like there would be so many goals scored in this one. Both the teams were all square till the 77th minute but then the hosts managed to take the lead once again. However, the visitors then won a penalty which they ended up missing. At one point it seemed it would cost them but they managed to score a few minutes later and then took the lead in the 85th minute. They though could not hang on as NorthEast United FC found the back of the net for the third time in the 88th minute. Both the teams did give it their all in the final minutes for the winner but no goals could be scored. In the end, the right result one can say.

Did that cross the line?
Jamshedpur FC surely feel so but the ref does not! The visitors were inches away from finding the equalizer. The corner is hit towards the far post, it is headed back towards the centre by a Jamshedpur FC player but it falls to a NorthEast United FC who tries to clear it but fails to do so as it goes only as far as Noe Acosta. He strikes it towards goal, it takes a deflection and then hits the crossbar, bounces just ahead of the line and then it is cleared out.
82'
GOALLLLL!!!
Noe Acosta scores after missing out on the penalty and we have the equalizer. This game is going to the wire. A thunderous strike from him from outside the box. He receives the ball just outside the box. He takes a touch and beats Subhasish Roy who dives to his left but fails to get a touch.

GOALLL!!!
NorthEast United FC have taken the lead once again! An excellent effort from Redeem Tlang but credit has to be given to Martin Chaves. He made an excellent run down the left flank and then goes past a defender. Lobs it towards the far post. Sandip Mandi leaps high and tries to head it out of danger but it is a little too high for him. It hits his head and lobs a few yards away from goal. Redeem Tlang is there and he volleys it into the back of the net. Just around 13 minutes to go, can the hosts hang on?

All level at the break!
An equalizer right at the end changes the look of the game completely! It was hosts who dominated most of the half. They also managed to score early and then kept the pressure on their opponents. Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, failed to create a lot of chances. Bikash Jairu did have one but he could not control the ball well to let go of the opportunity. However, just as it seemed they would head into the break trailing, David Grande headed in the equalizer. The game is brilliantly set for the second 45. Both the teams will go for the win. Who will come out on top? We will find out soon.

Heavy touch!
That would have been a good chance had Bikash Jairu done better there! Aniket Jadhav makes a good run down the right. He then chips it towards his left and it goes over the defenders and falls on the foot of Bikash Jairu. His touch though is heavy and it goes straight into the hands of the keeper. Had he controlled it nicely, it would have been a big chance.
31'
Clumsy foul
Aitor Monroy takes down Lalengmawia in the middle of the park. The referee is quick to spot that and a free-kick is given to the hosts. Monroy would feel lucky that he was not shown a card though.

GOALLLLLL
NorthEast United FC score and take the lead early in the game. Their first-ever goal of 2020. It is their skipper, Federico Gallego, who finds the back of the net. It was an excellent through ball by Ninthoi to find Andrew Keogh inside the box who takes the shot but Rafique Ali does well to come out of his line to block the ball. However, it goes to his right where Federico Gallego is present. He tucks it in by going past the challenge one of the opposition players. A top, top team goal from the Highlanders.

Matchday
With no chance of making it into the final 4 on the points table, NorthEast United FC get ready to host Jamshedpur FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati. Like the Highlanders, Jamshedpur FC too are out of the race of reaching the final 4. Both the sides will now take the remaining games as an opportunity to salvage some pride and finish the tournament with a few wins. NorthEast United FC's struggle at the attacking front are not hidden. They have missed the services of Asamoah Gyan who missed out on a few games due to an injury. In the five games that they have played in 2020, the side are yet to find the back of the net and this is enough to tell their story of the season. At the back, Kai Heerings and Mislav Komorski have done really well and in this final phase of the tournament, they will hope to see the strikers step up and take the responsibility. Jamshedpur FC started the tournament with a bang but could not continue that form in the mid-phase and a defeat in the last game saw them crashing out of the final 4 race. With their key players like Castel, Piti and Tiri getting injured, their season could not get going at all and although Castel has returned, their fortunes have not changed. Now, with a few games left for each side in the group stages, they will try to finish the season on a high. Will we get to see the Highlanders scoring their first goal of 2020 or will Jamshedpur FC manage to break their three-game losing streak?
