Sayonara!

Awards
The Club Award is shared tonight as the match ended in a draw. Marcos Tebar is the Limitless Player of the Match. Rowllin Borges bags the Winning Pass of the Match Award. Nandhakumar Sekar is awarded the Emerging Player of the Match while Panagiotis Triadis is handed over the Hero of the Match Award.
Visitors escape defeat!
Lady luck was on full show tonight as Delhi Dynamos have travelled to Guwahati and escaped unscathed, taking a point along. After a sedate first half, the second one started with a bit of speed. The hosts kept attacking but the deadlock was broken by the visitors who found the back of the net courtesy an easy goal for their skipper, Marcos Tebar. That happiness and that lead lasted for exactly 4 minutes as Delhi Dynamos conceded a penalty in the 71st minute and it was duly put away by the opposition skipper, Bartholomew Ogbeche, cancelling out his counterpart's goal. After that, attack after attack followed from the hosts but the Dynamos somehow held on for a draw. The post came to their rescue after an attempt from Rowllin Borges as well. The hosts will feel hard done by but in the end, that's what it is. Still not enough for Delhi but NorthEast United FC will also be disappointed with just a single point.

Yellow card followed by final whistle
Tempers flaring here and a poor foul by Gianni Zuiverloon on Panagiotis Triadis. The ball was not even in the picture. Hence, the ref blows for a foul and even awards him a yellow card. That will also be the last play of the game as there is no more time left of the 6 minutes added on. 1-1 it ends then and 1 point each team.

Unfortunate NEUFC!
How are NorthEast United FC still on level terms here? A low drilled cross from the right side by Federico Gallego goes through everyone and reaches the foot of Rowllin Borges. The latter shoots on target, the keeper makes a fingertip-save and the crossbar keeps the ball out of the net. Gianni Zuiverloon gets to the ball but he is fouled by Juan Mascia and the ref blows for it. The attack is stopped and the home team is disgusted as to how that one has stayed out. Massive luck for the Dynamos here.

Added time
6 minutes have been added on as stoppage time at the end of 90 minutes. Can stuff change here?

Too high!
A cross from Panagiotis Triadis on the left side of the box. It reaches the head of Bartholomew Ogbeche who jumps to nod the ball. He cannot keep it on target and the ball flies well over the bar. Looks like he was put off by the defender in front of him, Marti Crespi.
77'
Problem for NorthEast United FC
The goalkeeper TP Rehenesh looks to have injured himself here somehow, pulling a hamstring or something. He is on the ground and the play will be halted to give him some medical attention.
71'
GOALLLLL!!! (PEN)
Bartholomew Ogbeche only moves one step and then slots it to the right side of the goal. The keeper goes the other way. And just like that, the lead for Delhi Dynamos FC lasts only for 4 minutes. The crowd is back to making noise now. All square once more and all to play for here.

Penalty for NorthEast United
Just the kind of thing the hosts would have liked after going a goal down. Rowllin Borges plays Ogbeche through in the box on the right-hand side. Narayan Das clips him from behind trying to stop him. The ref doesn't spot it, but his lino does and he signals for it. Golden chance for the hosts to get back in this game. Ogbeche to take this...
67'
GOALLLLLL!!!
Would you believe this? The home crowd has been silenced! Delhi Dynamos FC have scored against the run of play. Romeo Fernandes from the right of midfield runs down the flank and puts in a good cross into the box. TP Rehenesh tries to stop the ball but fails to hold onto it. It ends at the feet of Marcos Tebar to just coolly slot it home. 1-0 Delhi! NorthEast United FC have work to do now.

On target but saved
Delhi Dynamos FC are surely having the rub of green on their side today. Panagiotis Triadis on the left flank takes on Gianni Zuiverloon, beats him and then puts in a scissored cross into the box. Bartholomew Ogbeche jumps and reaches the ball with his head. Nods it on target but right where Francisco Dorronsoro is positioned. The keeper manages to save it and hold on to the ball as well. NorthEast United FC can't waste chances like this.
55'
Just can't hit the target
Another big mistake from the Delhi Dynamos FC defense line. This time a goal kick is passed by Francisco Dorronsoro to Gianni Zuiverloon. The latter tries to keep the ball too long but it is stolen away by Bartholomew Ogbeche who attacks it. He passes the ball to Federico Gallego who is in the box and has space to shoot. Gallego though, hits it wide of the near post. NorthEast United FC just can't seem to hit the ball on target now.
49'
Just wide!
Huge, huge chance missed. A through ball from Robert Lalthlamuana on the left side of midfield sets Bartholomew Ogbeche clear behind the defense. The Delhi Dynamos FC defenders are looking for a flag that never came up and for good reason. The Nigerian runs towards goal and has a lot of space to shoot, tries to go for the far post but hits it well wide of target. Big chance goes begging!
46'
Second half
We are all set to resume the game here. It will be the hosts, NorthEast United FC, who will get the ball rolling in the second period with a huge roar from the crowd present.
46'
Half Time!
An incredible half of football here but somehow it has not seen a goal. The visiting Delhi side started on the front foot creating a few chances in the opening 15 minutes. They couldn't latch on to any and post that, it has been all about the hosts. They were really fast and the Dynamos are lucky to have not gone behind here. The best chance of the game so far though went to Lallianzuala Chhangte courtesy a mistake from TP Rehenesh who presented the ball to him on a platter. Chhangte could not take full toll of it and failed to score with just the goalkeeper in front of him. As for the hosts, their best chance came when Panagiotis Triadis' curler hit the upright and rolled back into play. All in all though, NorthEast United FC were more dominant and will be looking to improve their finishing in the final third and score the all-important goal to break the deadlock here. Will we see that happening or is something else in store for us? Join us in a bit for the resumption...
45'
NorthEast United FC deserve a goal
The home team has grown in confidence just as the game drew to its half time interval. A brilliant curler from Panagiotis Triadis from the left at the edge of the box beats the keeper Francisco Dorronsoro, but also beats the goal as it goes out of the crossbar. So unlucky, the Highlanders deserved to be 1-0 up there. That would also be the last significant play of the half as the ref blows his whistle soon after.
45'
Added time
2 minutes added on as stoppage time at the end of the 45 minutes.
45'
Great keeping
Rowllin Borges is played in a through ball from the midfield on the right-hand side of the box. He then tries to finish it as Francisco Dorronsoro has charged at him, but the keeper covers the angle. The ball goes back to Borges who tries a second time but this one is also kept out by the keeper. The attack fizzes out post a very poor cross the third time from Panagiotis Triadis.
38'
Good play from the tourists
Big chance for the Dynamos! They break on the counter from the right with Sekar getting on the ball. He drills in a low ball at the edge of the box which Ulises Davila shoots first time. On target, but it's a little too close to the keeper who saves it.
36'
Dorronsoro to the rescue
Robert Lalthlamuana from the right flank crosses the ball into the box and Gianni Zuiverloon clears it out. The clearance though goes directly to the feet of Lalthathanga Khawlhring who shoots towards goal. The ball hits Bartholomew Ogbeche on the way and seems to be rolling into the path of Panagiotis Triadis who just had to tap it in. But, an alert Francisco Dorronsoro comes ahead and clears out the danger. Good attentive stuff from the keeper.
33'
Substitution
A tactical change for the hosts. Gurwinder Singh comes on and replaces Redeem Tlang. You usually don't see these kind of changes in the first half. Could there be a niggle as well?
33'
Substitution

24'
Could have been fatal
A huge mistake from TP Rehenesh but he makes amends. He passes the ball straight to an opposition player. Lallianzuala Chhangte gets the ball and is one-on-one with the goalkeeper but Rehenesh parries away the Delhi man's shot on target out for a corner. That could have cost them a goal.
22'
NorthEast United FC on the attack
The home team has settled well into the game and attacking on a good consistent basis. It is keeping up the pressure on the DD defense.
17'
Another chance passed up
Gianni Zuiverloon from the right side of defense lofts a beautiful ball onto the feet of Narayan Das across the field. The latter puts a ground pass to Lallianzuala Chhangte who runs in front of him. Chhangte then cuts back and crosses the ball in. Vinit Rai reaches the end of the ball but shoots his attempt on the volley off target.
11'
Missed chance
A lobbed pass from Marti Crespi finds Daniel Lalhlimpuia inside the box. The latter tries to control the ball with his left foot but fails to do so and the ball rolls meekly to the goalkeeper. Would have been a real goal-scoring chance had Daniel kept the ball well.
5'
Sedate start
Both teams are still getting their eye in. The away team, Delhi Dynamos FC, are slightly on the front foot in the opening minutes though.
1'
Kick off!
The away side gets us underway in the first half with the kick of the ball.
Toss
NorthEast United FC win the coin-flip and choose to shoot from right to left in the first half.
National Anthem
The two teams and the officials walk out to the middle now and line up for the Indian National Anthem.

Welcome!
Match 71 will see NorthEast United FC host Delhi Dynamos FC. It's safe to say that this contest holds more value for the hosts than it does for the team from the capital, as they are very much in the hunt for a top 4 spot. They need to win, as anything other than that could see Jamshedpur FC and ATK either get super close or leapfrog them, depending on the respective results. The Highlanders need to buck up now though, as there is no margin for error left. They only have one win in their last 5 games, as compared to their opponents this evening who have won two and drawn one in their last five. The H2H record is quite even - both teams have won three, lost three and three have been drawn. A win here will solidify NorthEast United's position in the top 4, but it won't be an easy task as Delhi have improved their defense in their last three games. Much to play for for the Highlanders, will they be able to take one step forward to their first-ever knockout stage? We'll soon find out.
