The Club Award is shared by both MCFC and ATKMB as the game ended 2-2. Ahmed Jahouh is picked for the Hero of the Match Award for his quality and creativity in the midfield.
A nerve-wracking contest!
What a breathtaking game! It swung like a pendulum and eventually, both sides shared a point each. Mumbai City FC started brightly in the first half to gain an early lead and then did well to stay in front despite ATKMB's relentless attack at the fag end of the first half. The way ATK Mohun Bagan upped the ante in the attacking third, it was on the expected lines that they will come out all guns blazing. Soon after the start of the second 45, ATKMB managed to breach Mumbai City FC's defense and Joni Kauko's attempt got deflected by Mehtab Singh to find the back of the net. Thereafter, the hosts lost control of the game, and their attacking game faded slightly. That said, there were plenty of opportunities created by them but they lacked the finishing touch. In the 72nd minute though, Rostyn Griffiths overpowered Vishal Kaith to put his header in and handed the lead back to Mumbai City FC. With a man down (due to Lenny Rodrigues bagging the red card) and not much time left in the half, ATKMB brought in Carl McHugh by sacrificing Hugo Boumous and Carl turned out to be a super sub as he helped his team get back on level terms. In the extra time, ATKMB had the chance to break the hearts of the MCFC fans but Dimitri Petratos' attempt rattled the crossbar and the ball stayed out, much to the relief of the home team. Moments after that Alberto Noguera had the chance to put the game to bed but his effort hit the inside part of the upright. All in all, this game was packed with opportunities galore and thrilled everyone to bits.

Alberto Noguera comes close to scoring now as he hits the inside part of the upright! MCFC come forward with Alberto Noguera and he takes a lovely shot across the keeper. The ball hits the left post and comes back into play, into the path of Vikram Singh, who takes a wild effort and shoots off target. Alberto Noguera is absolutely furious that his teammate did not cut the ball back.

ATKMB have hit the crossbar once again and they will find themselves really unlucky to not have the lead here! Ashique Kuruniyan finds space to cut in from the left wing and whips in a low cross past the face of the goal. Dimitri Petratos throws his body at the ball and gets enough on it to beat the keeper. The ball hits the crossbar though and a golden opportunity is missed.

Scores are level once again! ATKMB have found a way back into the game and it comes courtesy of their substitute Carl McHugh. The gamble to take off Hugo Boumous has paid off and there are screams of disappointment from the crowd. ATKMB have a free kick on the left side of the field and Dimitri Petratos stands over the ball. He puts in a lovely cross in a dangerous area and Carl McHugh gets to the end of it. He does well to guide it past the keeper to the right corner of the goal and ATKMB have a late goal. The celebrations show what this goal mean to them!

Sizzling half!
Phew! What an action-packed half! MCFC started like a train on fire and gained an early lead through a thunderbolt strike from Lallianzuala Chhangte in the 4th minute. Minutes after that ATKMB had the chance to equalize but Liston Colaco's strong header hit the crossbar. The half, as expected, was played at a high tempo and MCFC looked in great attacking form. ATKMB did well to soak the pressure after conceding early and then grew into their attacking game. In the last few minutes, ATKMB unleashed a relentless attack but they were not clinical in front of goal. The MCFC defense was found wanting on many occasions and the home team can consider itself lucky to be ahead in this game. MCFC will have to plug the loopholes in the next half as ATKMB will aim to come out all guns blazing.

ATKMB had a golden opportunity to level scores here! A counter-attack opportunity arises for the visitors but they are unable to make the most of it. A long ball finds Manvir Singh who runs free away from the defenders and finds himself one on one with Phurba Lachenpa on the right side. He looks up and finds Dimitri Petratos making a run into the box and cuts the ball back. Dimitrios holds the ball for too long and in the end shoots off target.

MCFC are on the front foot and are knocking at the ATKMB goal! Another long ball finds Lallianzuala Chhangte on the right wing and he plays a quick pass into the box into the path of Lalengmawia Ralte. Another quick pass finds Greg Stewart free in front goal and he takes a firm shot straight at Vishal Kaith who makes himself large to block. This could have put the home side well in the driver's seat.

Bipin Singh is causing some serious problems on the left side of the field. Some fancy footwork helps him find space near the by-line to whip in a dangerous cross that finds the head of Jorge Diaz. The attacker has overshot the cross a fraction and does not get the best of connections as the ball goes over the crossbar.

Greg Stewart intercepts the pass and eases it towards Ahmed Jahouh who pushes it forward inside the box to find Lallianzuala Chhangte's run. Chhangte takes a touch and blasts it towards the right post but Vishal Kaith dives and deflects it out for a corner. Nothing comes off from the set-piece.

What an electric start to the game! The crossbar comes to Mumbai City FC's rescue. Dimitri Petratos takes the ball from the right flank and chips a fabulous cross inside the box. Liston Colaco keeps running forward, beats his marker and blasts his header through to beat the leaping goalkeeper. However, to his bad luck, it hits the crossbar and deflects away. A huge sigh of relief for the home crowd.

He takes a shot from long range and bludgeons it through the line. The ball hits the crossbar and falls inside the goalline. The referee spots that and declares that MCFC have opened their account.
