Adios!
That's it from this game but don't go far away as the game between Hyderabad FC and Bengaluru FC have already started. Switch the tabs and join us there. Cheers!
Honors even!
JFC will be happy with the point but MCFC will be not. MCFC played brilliantly in the second half and created chances regularly. They created pressure on JFC but they were relentless at the back. A better final pass could have helped them but eventually, they will go with a point now. Both teams missed that extra creativity that could have unlocked and given them the lead. JFC didn't play their best football. They asked way too much from Daniel Chukwu who was feeling lonely at the top. MCFC though deserved more than just a point.
90'
Final whistle!
There goes the referee's whistle and it ends all square.
90'
Final shot!
Jorge Diaz makes room on the left flank and has a go but fails to wrap his foot around. Shoots high. That should be the last effort.
90'
Free kick!
Jay Thomas takes the free kick and crosses at the far post but Eli Sabia fails to get his head on it. Tell you what, he was free and could have done much better.
90'
Added time!
The official signal is that there will be a minimum of 5 minutes added on.
87'
Just wide!
Jorge Diaz gets past his marker in a cheeky way and gets into the position to shoot. All inside the box but fails to test the keeper.
87'
Substitution!
Now, MCFC make one change as Gurkirat Singh comes in for Bipin Singh.

Half a chance!
Jay Thomas puts a through ball for Farukh Choudhary but it was cut off by Rahul Bheke. Finally, JFC are growing into the game. A bit late but at the right time.
76'
A bit more effort!
MCFC deserve something from this game. They have put in a real shift in this half. All their substitutions have played a part but all they are missing is a goal. If things stay the same way, MCFC will find one in the last remaining 15 minutes.
72'
Change!
Harry Sawyer makes place for Jay Thomas. A like-for-like change for JFC.
71'
Substitution

68'
More changes!
MCFC make two more changes. Jorge Diaz and Rowllin Borges come in for Ahmed Jahouh and Lallianzuala Chhangte. Vikram Singh turned out to be an inspiring one, can these two make a difference now?

A huge chance!
Vikram Singh almost took his in front. He tries to chip in over the keeper and almost did it to perfection but hits the bar. Vikram Singh had to go for it as there were many JFC players standing in front of him.
61'
Pressure!
MCFC are piling on the pressure now. They have up the ante and all of a sudden created some chances. A couple of good ones but the final pass is missing.

The ball lands in front of Daniel Chukwu after a bit of luck and a couple of deflections. He powers but hits the side netting. MCFC need to clear the ball quickly. Daniel Chukwu will not let go this type of chance for the second time.
48'
Penalty shot!
Lallianzuala Chhangte is brought down inside the box. He doesn't make much noise but it comes from the other players. The referee waves it away.
48'
First chance!
MCFC ask the question first! Greg Stewart plays a quick one-two with Lallianzuala Chhangte but it's too much of an ask for the former to hit it past the keeper.
46'
Second half!
We are underway! JFC will start this half and they have started on the front foot.
All square!
Both the teams had their chances but the way game flowed after the first 20 minutes, 1-1 is a fair result. It was an entertaining start as inside 10 minutes MCFC took the lead but JFC didn't waste any time to square things up. After that, the game did slow down and both teams were happy to defend back. In the last few minutes, JFC tried to take the lead again but MCFC defended well. Now, both teams will look to make a couple of changes as they look for the lead. The game is nicely poised at the break. Stay tuned for the second essay.
45'

That looked close to the body! Bipin Singh again finds space and crosses in the box. Lallianzuala Chhangte tries to volley one but JFC clear it out.
36'
Booked!
Another MCFC player booked inside two minutes. Mehtab Singh tries to clear the ball with a slide but fouls Daniel Chukwu instead. That is a deserving one. Very harsh slide.

29'
On target!
Wellington Cirino Priori wins the ball off one of the MCFC player. He squares it to Rahul Bheke who makes a run but his shot is straight to the keeper.
24'
Using the width!
Bipin Singh is getting so much space on the left flank. JFC are compact on the back but need to keep an eye on Bipin Singh on the left flank.
20'
Controlling!
MCFC have the most possession right now. Things have calmed down after an exhilarating first 20 minutes.
16'
Chances!
Both sides had their chances. MCFC are using the width while JFC are using Daniel Chukwu as their target man.
12'
GOALLLL!
JFC level things up in just four minutes. What a start to this game! Daniel Chukwu smells a goal every time there is an opportunity. What a player he is for JFC. This one is out of the practice session. Wellington Cirino Priori gets a throw in on the right flank. He lobs the ball inside the box. Harry Sawyer uses his height and gets his head onto it. The ball goes back and Daniel Chukwu heads it past the keeper.

GOALLL!
MCFC waste no time! What a beautiful team goal. MCFC do love to play this way and this goal just shows how much they put in the work. Ahmed Jahouh holds the ball and shows beautiful skills to get rid of his marker. He puts a through ball for Greg Stewart on the right flank who crosses it low inside the box and Lallianzuala Chhangte gets first to slide it in. A proper team goal and MCFC deservingly lead the game.

All the players stride out to the middle and line up for the Indian national anthem.
JFC (Playing XI)
Rehenesh TP (GK), Ricky Lallawmawma, Eli Sabia (C), Pratik Chaudhari, Laldinliana Renthlei, Wellington Cirino Priori, Germanpreet Singh, Boris Singh, Harry Sawyer, Ritwik Das, Daniel Chukwu.
MCFC (Playing XI)
Phurba Lachenpa (GK), Rahul Bheke (C), Mehtab Singh, Sanjeev Stalin, Rostyn Griffiths, Alberto Noguera, Ahmed Jahouh, Lalengmawia Ralte, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Greg Stewart, Bipin Singh.
A heavyweight clash
MCFC sit in the top-half of the table, while JFC see themselves in the bottom two. It is still early days to judge the table, although momentum plays a crucial role in a team's success. JFC seem to be on the right path tactically but a small blip in the first match might hurt their momentum. Their players certainly need to pick themselves up before the situation slips out of hands. It won't be an easy challenge though to take-on MCFC away from home. All eyes will surely be on Greg Stewart. Who will take back the 3 crucial points? We shall find out together.
GAME DAY!
It is time for the first double-header of the Hero ISL 2022-23 season. In the first game of the day, Mumbai City FC will be locking horns against Jamshedpur FC. After playing two games, MCFC remain unbeaten in the Hero ISL league, while JFC suffered a shocking defeat in their opening encounter which remains to be their only game so far. Jamshedpur FC would be hoping to stomp their authority in Mumbai after their slow start to the campaign. Although, this time Greg Stewart will be playing against them.
