See you guys!
A thrilling performance from Jamshedpur FC has helped them to get the points away from home. This is how you would like to kick off - in style. Mumbai City FC had their moments but couldn't break through. Join us on 3rd of October for match 5 where Delhi Dynamos FC will be hosting FC Pune City at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 1930 IST. Cheers!
Awards
The Club Award has been collected by Tiri, the Jamshedpur skipper. The Limitless Player of the Match goes to Lucian Goian. The Winning Pass of the Match has been awarded to Carlos Calvo for the first goal. The Emerging Player of the Match has been won by Jerry Mawhmingthanga and the Hero of the Match has been bagged by him too.
Jamshedpur open their campaign in style
We have witnessed a good game, full of action. In the first half, Jamshedpur were on the offensive initially and that helped them to take the lead, courtesy Mario Arques' pinpoint header. Mumbai who were lagging showed good intent in the second half, with much more penetration upfront. They created a good number of chances and scored a couple of goals as well but those happened to be offsides. Jamshedpur who were already up attacked in the final stages of the game again. The fact that Mumbai were trying to find the equalizer landed their defence into a vulnerable situation. It was in the added time that Pablo Morgado, the substitute, found the net to shut the doors on the home side.

2-0 for Jamshedpur!
Sergio Cidoncha runs in from the right flank and lobs the ball toward Pablo Morgado who is in an advantageous position as there are very less defenders near him. He controls the ball well, looks at the keeper who is trying to cut down the angle on him but he hits it perfectly past his right side to find the net. The red army is up in the isles and is celebrating!

On target
Sergio Cidoncha keeps his composure on the right and cuts in from there. He spots Carlos Calvo running in from the left wing and passes it to him. Calvo plays a good shot, aiming for the top right post but the Mumbai keeper leaps to his left and makes a brilliant save.
84'
Another heartbreak for Mumbai
Paulo Machado takes a free kick from the 30-yard mark and nails it. Has a lot of power on that but the ball hits the crossbar. Modou Sougou runs in towards the ball off the rebound and heads it into the goal. They are already celebrating but the linesman again has his flag up. Yes, another spot on call on the offside. Mumbai will be distraught! 2 goals were there for the taking but alas...

Offside!
Pranjal Bhumij shows good skills near the D-box. He dribbles the ball and deceives two defenders. He passes the ball to Raynier Fernandes who lobs the ball towards the center. Rafique there shows good control as he heads the ball into the near post but wait! He has been adjuged offside. Good call that!

A strong counter by Mumbai
Goain puts in a long ball from the midfield to the centre. Sougou runs in from near the penalty box and it seems that he is offside there, just ahead of two Jamshedpur defenders but the linesman has other ideas. The game continues as Modou gets his right foot on it. It rolls towards Pranjal who gets a touch on it but the captain, Siri leaps and deflects it away.

Jamshedpur are on the attack
Cidoncha puts in a good cross from the right to Carlos Calvo. He collects it on the left, chests it down and tries to volley it into the goal but he mishits it to the center of the box. Passi there tries to tap it in but it goes over the crossbar. Big, big chance that!
62'
Jerry is showing good speed
Jerry, just like in the first half, continues to create chances. He gets a good ball to his right and charges in. He lines it up and hits a venomous shot on target from the right but the keeper punches it out.
59'
Mumbai are pushing through
Lucian Goian in the midfield puts a good through ball from the right. Mohammed Rafique in the attacking third deflects it in with his head as it finds Modou Sougou in the penalty box. The keeper stands his ground, stretches his right hand out and puts it out for a corner. Terrific keeping!
58'
Another corner for Jamshedpur FC
Carlos Calvo takes a corner from the right and puts in it near the goal but the home side clears it away.
51'
A chance created
Sanju Pradhan in the midfield puts a through ball near the penalty box. Rafael Bastos charges in but it is very quick for him to make contact. He however gets a toe to it but the Jamshedpur keeper is alert as he shows good awareness and collects the ball by running in.

Second Yellow of the game
Mario gets his name into the book! A bad tackle and is punished. Rafael runs with the ball but Arques comes sliding in and gets the striker's leg. The ref straight away gets out a yellow.

Good defending
Carlos Calvo takes a corner from the left side and lobs the ball towards the far post. Tiri comes running in and puts in a sliding header towards goal. However, Goian makes a goal-line clearance and diverts it over the goal. If it wasn't for him, Jamshedpur would have been 2-0 up.
46'
Second half
The ref blows the whistle and the game is underway again. This time, Mumbai will start this half. They kick it behind to take possession.
Half Time
There goes the ref's whistle. Not exactly an exciting half, but not dull either. It had some action, with both sides having their moments. Jamshedpur started off well, but then the hosts slowly got back into it. Though, their momentum was shaken when Mario Arques slotted in a neat header off Carlos Calvo's cross from a tight angle. Since then Mumbai City have tried their best, had a couple of decent chances created but couldn't find the back of the net. They're still in this, the game isn't over by a long shot. Join us on the other side of the break for all the action.
45'
Added Time
Just the 2 minutes. And action in it straightaway. Jerry is on the receiving end of a bad pass from a Mumbai player. He breaks forward, looks to cut in from the right but Lucian Goian makes an excellent sliding tackle. Timed it to perfection.
39'
Blunder from Raju Gaikwad
If it wasn't for Tiri, Jamshedpur would be level on scores here. Gaikwad makes a total mess while trying to clear this lobbed ball, scuffs it behind and Sougou pounces on it. He's through on goal but the Jamshedpur skipper intervenes with his pace and clears it out. Sougou wants a penalty, but the referee shakes his head. It's a clean challenge.
36'
Another Mumbai chance
Lucian Goian gets the ball on the right inside the box from Sanju Pradhan. He takes it in his stride, fires a shot away but it's wide of the near post.
33'
Great chance but it's offside
He should have scored, even though he was offside. Machado puts in a lovely delivery from the dead ball, dead center and Klisura attacks. He rises, looks to direct it past the keeper but misses completely. The keeper makes a good last-minute save but the Mumbai defender is offside.
28'
GOAL!
Jamshedpur FC lead this game and you could say they deserve it too. Mario Arques started it all off and finishes it too. Combines well with Jerry on the right and overhits his cross. Carlos Calvo though salvages it on the left wing and puts it back in at the far post. Mario attacks the ball, makes good connection with the ball and heads it past the keeper, into the back of the net from a narrow angle.

Not far away
Mumbai with the first real attempt. Paulo Machado whips in a corner from the right and finds Lucian Goian. Goian rises, heads it towards goal but can't keep it down. There were two defenders on him, so a bit difficult. Good effort though.
20'
Yellow Card!
A bit of action in the midfield. Tiri tries to win the ball from Modou Sougou but in the process, tackles him from behind. The referee is quick to take action as he gives a yellow card to the man in red. A bit harsh call that and Tiri is not happy.

Mumbai slowly growing into the game
The first 10-12 minutes the visitors were on top, but steadily the home side has started to find its footing. Have some decent possesion and even attacking a bit. Sauvik Chakrabarti crosses it in from the right but the keeper catches it.
9'
Could have been something
Jerry has been involved in most things early in this half. He whips in another good ball from the right, Mario Arques tries an overhead kick but misses it completely. The ball eventually deflects towards Carlos Calvo who tries to cross it in from the left but it goes out for the corner. Nothing comes from the subsequent set-piece.
5'
That was close
Mario Arques chips it towards the far post from the left and tries to find Jerry. But the Mumbai keeper does well to come off his line and intervene.
5'
Decent chance for Jamshedpur
Jerry has space ahead as he breaks forward on the right-hand side. Drills in a low cross but it's comfortably cleared out by Lucian Goian.

A look into the strengths of both teams -
Jamshedpur FC started their campaign last season with four clean sheets in a row and finished the league stage with seven, the highest along with Bengaluru and Chennaiyin. Defence is an area where they pride themselves on. This can be further highlighted by the fact that they faced the second least shots on target (79) in the league stage. Mumbai FC, on the other hand, boast of a strong defensive core as well. Amrinder Singh, Lucian Goian and Anwar Ali played together in 6 games in ISL 2016. In those, they lost only once while winning twice. They also kept 5 clean sheets in those particular matches which was a good achievement.
An exciting clash on the cards!
Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage of the fourth match of the 2018-19 ISL season between Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. In the previous season, both these teams failed to break into the top four and they will be eyeing to put in a much stronger performance this time around. The visitors though impressed on certain occasions in their opening ISL season but their defensive strategy backfired a bit. A new coach has been appointed for both teams and it will be interesting to witness what style of play they adopt.
