Goodbye 2019!
That's it from this action-packed game where Mumbai City FC hold onto their nerves in the final few minutes to bag their first win at home. Hyderabad FC's poor run continued here in this game too and they'd hope the new year brings them some luck. ISL will take a backseat for a while and the action will resume on Friday, 3rd January 2020, when Bengaluru FC host FC Goa in the first encounter of the new year. Till then, a very happy new year in advance. Goodbye!
Awards
Mumbai City FC collect the Club Award for winning the match this evening. Diego Carlos is given the Limitless Player of the Match Award. Bidyananda Singh bags the Winning Pass of the Match Award. Asish Rai takes home the Emerging Player of the Match Award and Modou Sougou is the unanimous choice for the Hero of the Match Award.
Mumbai City FC break into the top 4!
A happy ending to 2019 for Mumbai City FC! 2-1 win for them but it was a hard-fought one. After taking an early lead, Mumbai City FC failed to capitalize on it and Hyderabad FC started to exploit their weakness at the back. However, the visiting team didn't have luck on their side as plenty of chances were wasted. It appeared that the writing was on the wall once Modou Sougou doubled Mumbai's lead in the 78th minute but three minutes after that Bobo scored to keep Hyderabad FC in the hunt. The last few minutes were crazy and Mumbai City FC somehow managed to hang around with 10 men. They complete a hat-trick of wins now and will welcome 2020 with a big smile. As far as Hyderabad FC are concerned, they continue to be pinned at the bottom and their chances of making to the top 4 now look very bleak.

Full time
There goes the final whistle and Mumbai City FC hold their nerves to bag three points.
90'
Offside goal
Bobo receives the ball inside the box off a deflection. He turns nicely and hits it cleanly but Amrinder Singh does well to block it. However, it falls to Matthew Kilgallon who hits the ball in but the linesman is quick to raise the offside flag.
90'
Added time
The referee has added 6 minutes to the second half. Quite a lot of time for Hyderabad FC to equalize against a 10-man Mumbai City FC.
90'
Chance missed
Marko Stankovic from mid-field makes a brilliant pass towards Asish Rai who does not have a marker near him. However, he tries to stretch and control the ball, he is a little slow to do so and ends up not getting his foot to it. Should've done a lot better there.
86'
Superb from Amrinder Singh
Marcelo Pereira receives a cross at the near post almost from the mid-field. He hits it towards Bobo who looks to hit the ball in the goal but Amrinder comes out of his line to push the ball away from danger.

Substitution

GOALLLL
Hyderabad FC hit back. Superb from Bobo. Asish Rai crosses the ball superbly inside the box. It falls at the feet of Bobo who looks to tuck it home. To his good luck, in spite of Pratik Chaudhari blocking his way, the ball takes the deflection and finds the net. Can they strike one more before the full time and force the hosts to share points?

GOOOOALLLLLL
Modou Sougou scores his second of the evening and provides the insurance goal to Mumbai City FC! Massive, massive error on the part of the goalkeeper. The action begins from the midfield as Bidyananda Singh chips it ahead after seeing the run from Modou Sougou. The star striker has a couple of defenders with him as he enters the box but since Kamaljit Singh is off his line, Sougou comfortably lifts it at the far end and the ball hits the pole before deflecting in. The coach runs in delight and the home team now has a 2-goal cushion.

Hits the pole
What an effort from Marcelo Pereira but he hits the pole! Pereira received the ball from Bobo near the mid-line. He runs with it superbly and then makes room to slam the ball in. He does that and takes a shot but it hits the pole at the far end and goes away. Unlucky.

A half filled with plenty of missed chances!
A superb half of football comes to an end! Mumbai City FC have their noses in front. They got ahead in the 6th minute itself when their star striker Modou Sougou slotted one home. Hyderabad FC didn't look comfortable in their attacking play and their vulnerability in front of goal was once again exposed. They did create plenty of chances but the forward line struggled to put it away. The touring team survived a scare of going down by two goals in the 42nd minute as Asish Rai stood like a rock to make a couple of goal-line clearances. If Hyderabad FC manage to get any points from this clash, they will be thanking their defender for it. Given the number of chances created, we are expecting a few goals in the next half. Do join us for it in a short while.
45'
Half time
There goes the half time whistle. It is Mumbai City FC 1 - 0 Hyderabad FC.
45'
Added time
The referee has added two minutes in this first half.
42'
Superb save and equally well defended
Mohamed Larbi takes a corner from the right side. He hit the ball towards the far post. It falls to Mato Grgic who heads the ball at the near post but Asish Rai does well to head the ball away brilliantly. It falls to Modou Sougou who then tries to hit but Asish Rai is once again in action and comes in the way of the shot. But it is not out of danger as yet. Sougou gets another shot at goal but this time Kamaljit Singh does well to keep the ball away and it goes out for a goal kick. Phew! Hyderabad FC survive a real scare here.
39'
Injury
It is Modou Sougou, the goalscorer for Mumbai City FC, who is down. He got hit while one of the Hyderabad FC defenders was trying to clear the ball away.
36'
Chance gone
Mohamed Larbi from the right crosses the ball in the path of Serge Kevyn who does not have a marker around him. He takes it forward and has Modou Sougou on his left. However, Serge Kevyn looks to hit the ball in from a narrow-angle and ends up missing a goal-scoring opportunity.
32'
Foul
Pratik Chaudhari in an attempt of winning an aerial ball pushes Bobo down and Hyderabad FC get a free kick. Giles Barnes takes the free kick and crosses it inside the box. Rohit Kumar manages to leap high and head but his header is wide of the near post.
30'
Mumbai hanging on
Hyderabad FC have enjoyed more ball possession in the first 30 minutes but they are unable to create a lot of chances in front of the goal. They need to attack more to do that.
25'
Yellow card
Sarthak Golui gets the first booking of the night. He tried to win the ball from Nestor Jesus Benitez but ended up elbowing him on the face. Looked unintentional but referee books him for that.

19'
Poor one!
Mohamed Larbi steps up to take the free kick and lays it off for Diego Carlos just outside the box. Carlos goes for a full-blooded kick but it hits the wall and deflects out. Should have done better with this opportunity.
18'
Foul
Asish Rai and Adil Khan sandwich Diego Carlos who was looking to enter the box from the left side. Carlos is brought down and the referee calls it a foul. A free kick for Mumbai City FC in a very good position.
17'
Another Mumbai City FC move!

A lovely cross inside the box by Asish Rai meets the header of Bobo who does well to jump but fails to hit the mark. It goes over the crossbar.

Super Sunday!
It is time for the final Indian Super League game of 2019 and today, it is Mumbai City FC who host Hyderabad FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. Mumbai City FC are coming into this game on the back of a couple of wins. The Islanders had a slow start to the season but they have done well in their last 5 games, winning 2 and drawing 3 to bag important points. Interestingly, they have done well away from home but their form at home has not been great. One thing which makes the side different is that they are performing as a team and not reliant on a single individual for goals. They will be going into the game without key midfielders Paulo Machado and Rowllin Borges but will be confident that someone or the other will take responsibility. The visitors, Hyderabad FC, on the other hand, will be feeling a little bit aggrieved as they drew against ATK FC. Their only win came way back on 2nd November when they defeated Kerala Blasters FC at home, however, their overall performance has not been good and their defensive unit can be blamed for that. They have been very leaky at the back, giving away 19 goals which also is the most conceded by any team this season. In this game, they will hope to tighten the screws in the backline to stop the attacks from the Islanders and allow their forwards to make moves ahead. The likes of Bobo and Marcelo Pereira will be the key figures if they are to bag maximum points from this clash. How will things pan out in this last encounter of the year? Will Mumbai City FC continue their undefeated 5-game run or will Hyderabad FC register an unlikely second win?
