FC Goa all but seal their place in the finals
Complete and utter domination by FC Goa. After going into the half time with a one-goal lead. The away side did not rest on their lead though and continued to attack. And just 6 minutes into the second half, Coro just like other occasions in the league found himself on the score sheet. 7 minutes later Mourtada Fall got his brace and put all hopes of a Mumbai comeback to bed. Mumbai City FC though still tried to reduce the deficit but were unable to beat Naveen Kumar. And 8 minutes before the regulation 90. Brandon Fernandes put the 5th to complete a 5-star performance. FC Goa have a strong hold now and are almost through to the finals. Mumbai City FC will need to score a minimum of 5 goals now in the second leg at Goa.

GOALLLL!!!!!
The margin was already big and FC Goa have made it even bigger. Mourtada Fall gets two to his name. Brandon Fernandes puts a cross in the box of a corner. The ball dips down as it reaches the front of the goal and Mourtada Fall calmly heads it, keeps it low and just to the right of the keeper. No chance for Amrinder Singh to even move as the ball finds the back of the net.

Mumbai City FC are all over the place here and FC Goa are all over them. Jackichand Singh gets inside the box from the right flank and crosses to Coro at the far post. Coro is left alone by the defenders and they pay the price for that. Coro heads it and finds the back of the net. FC Goa have a 2-goal cushion now and more importantly they have 3 away goals now.

Nail-bitter of a half
What a great half of football we have had here in Mumbai. The home side started on the front foot and kept attacking the away sides backline. And they got their reward in the 20th when a brilliiant cross from Arnold was finished by Rafael Bastos. FC Goa who were quite till then sprung ito the game and 11-minutes later they equalised, courtesy of Jackichand Singh. The Gaurs didn't hold back and 6-minutes from half time they turned the game around and took the lead. This time it was Mourtada Fall, who headed home. It looked like Mumbai City FC had found their equaliser when Modou Sougou found the back of the net near the end of half time. But their celebration was cut short as the referee had the off side flag raised. FC Goa are in the driver's seat at the moment with the lead and 2-away goals. Mumbai City FC need to find a way to come back in this game.

Modou Sougou finds the ball into the box, he looks to finish but this time Naveen Kumar stops it with his foot and offers the crucial touch on it to run out for the corner. A heart skipping moment for FC Goa fans.
44'
Free kick in a danger position
Carlos Pena holds onto Arnold Issoko right on the edge of the box. The referee blows his whistle and all eyes are on the referee. He awards a free kick and not a penalty. Good decision there from the referee.
39'
GOALLLL!!!!!
We knew that we are going to see goals in this game but I seriously didn't think it is going to rain goals. FC Goa have taken a lead in this game before half time and Mourtada Fall also to get his name on the scoresheet along with Jackichand Singh. Brandon Fernandes puts a lovely cross in the box and Edu Bedia at the near post looks to head it in but fails to get a good touch on it. But Mourtada Fall behind at far post is ready to take chances like this. He dives and heads it into the goal. FC Goa are up in celebration.

Excellent effort
Rafael Bastos receives a long ball just outside the box. He is been pressed by the defender but Rafael makes his way past him and fires one at the goal. The shot is so excellent that it is unfortunate not to find the back of the net. It looks like a deflection of a FC Goa defender to save the day. Naveen Kumar's is standing cold as the ball rolls past the sidebar. Very, very close chance.
31'
GOALLLL!!!!!
FC Goa have silenced the crowd here in Mumbai and roared back into this game. Ferran Corominas takes a shot from distance on the left. It bounces in front of Amrinder Singh, he cannot hold onto it and spills it. Jackichand Singh reacts first and hits it away. The Mumbai goalkeeper should have done better there. FC Goa now have not just equalised but have alos got an away goal here.

GOALLLL!!!!!
Mumbai City FC have scored! A priceless lead in a very crucial game. Arnold Issoko has been wonderful in this game so far and he finally has an assist here. He receives a ball on the right wing, waits and then puts in a wonderful cross from the right. Once again it is an outside-footer. Rafael Bastos times his run into the box to perfection and slots it home. The Mumbai crowd is going absolutely mad here and why wouldn't they!
18'
Yellow card
First yellow card of the game and it goes to Mumbai City FC. The referee is unhappy with the throw-in and wants it to be retaken. Rafael Bastos furiously goes to the referee and argues. The official does not like it and brandishes a yellow card. A very unnecessary one to say the least.

Semi-final 2 - 1st Leg
It's Saturday night and a blockbuster of a match awaits. Mumbai City FC versus FC Goa. Sougou versus Coro. Counter attack versus possession play. Starting with the hosts, they started off well in this season of ISL but their record from last five matches tells us a different tale. They have lost 4 in that period and seem to have lost their momentum in this game. Their head-to-head battle against the visiting team is quite equally matched which is a good news for them. In ten matches, where this two were against each other, Mumbai have won 3 and Goa emerged victorious in 4. Gaurs have been on top form this season, they have scored the highest number of goals, the number which stands to be 36. They are favorites to win the game today unless Mumbai has something up their hood to surprise us. We will see that soon.
