Islanders on course, defending champions falter again
The misery continues for Chennaiyin FC and Mumbai City FC continue their impressive run. The hosts move to second on the table, 3 points adrift of league leaders Bengaluru FC. This win here makes this their best ever unbeaten streak in ISL till now. The hosts went into the half with their noses in front courtsey Raynier Fernandes. Chennaiyin FC came out in the second half hoping to find the equaliser but it was Mumbai City FC who once again found the back of the net, this time it was Modou Sougou who was at the right place when Rafael Bastos' shot deflected off the defender and fell kindly to Sougou. Chennaiyin FC kept pressurising the hosts' backline but to no avail. Where do Chennaiyin FC go from here? They cannot find a way to win. They had their chances but Amrinder Singh was in top form tonight and would not be beaten. Mumbai City FC are well on course to qualify for the semi-finals.

Home side go into the lead
What a half of football we have had here in Mumbai. The game started slowly but the home side started growing in the game and found the opener in the 27th minute courtesy Raynier Fernandes. The host were so close to doubling their lead at the end of the half when Modou Sougou's effort rattled the crossbar. Chennaiyin FC need to do better here. The best chance for them fell to Carlos Salom, whose effort was saved by Amrinder Singh. Chennaiyin FC have hardly had any clear-cut chances. It's not over yet. Hello everyone
And welcome to match 50 of this edition's Indian Super League. The Islanders host defending champions Chennaiyin FC. Mumbai City FC are on a 5 match unbeaten streak. This is their best run since ISL season 1. If they avoid defeat here this will become their best ever run. The hosts will be high on confidence after winning their last game against Delhi Dynamos FC. A win here for the hosts will see them go to second place on the points table. This has been a great campaign for Mumbai City FC, they have won 5 games this season so far, last season they managed to win only 7 overall. On the other hand what a disastrous campaign this has been for the defending champions. They find themselves 3rd from bottom and their chances of qualifying for the semi-final looks very bleak. If they want to have any scope of qualifying for the semis they must start winning, starting from now. They have won just 1 game so far this term and lost 7, joint most this season. This will be an interesting clash between teams facing contrasting fortunes. We have a great game in our hands. Join us in a bit for the start of the action.
