ATK take the pole position
End of a brilliant game where ATK FC break the 6-match unbeaten streak of Mumbai City FC in front of their home crowd. Neither of the two sides managed to score a goal in the second half but it was the hosts who were on top. However, ATK FC's defensive unit was superb and kept denying the opposition. Fortune did not favour the Islanders either as one of their attempts was denied by the post. An effort from Modou Sougou's was called offside while another one was chalked off by the referee which was a touch harsh. Serge Kevyn should've scored one in the 83rd minute but he missed a clear chance. However, ATK FC did not miss out the chances they got. Both of their goals came in the first half with Pronay Halder scoring the first one while Michael Soosairaj scoring one of the goals of the season with a brilliant strike in the 43rd minute. These two goals were enough for ATK FC to take the pole position on the points table.

Miss of the season?
Serge Kevyn is the man, the sub. He is just two yards out of the goal. Diego Carlos takes the corner from the left and delivers it at the far post. Subhasish Bose leaps high and heads it towards Serge Kevyn. Serge Kevyn is just 2-yards out but his header goes wide of the goal. Very, very poor stuff this from the Gabonese.

Another goal denied!
It's a foul! Modou Sougou is denied again. A cross is swung inside the box and the ATK FC defenders converge. However, it's their keeper who jumps to collect the ball. Arindam Bhattacharja spills it though and Modou Sougou slots it in. The referee has called foul and the replays suggest that there was nothing like foul there. Hard luck, Mumbai City FC!

ATK with the upper hand
Two brilliant goals means that the visitors go to the break with a smile on their face. It was Pronay Halder who hit the ball in the back of the net to give ATK FC a lead in the 29th minute. The visitors made more attacks after that and eventually Michael Soosairaj scored the second goal, probably the goal of the season so far to double the lead. The hosts started the half brilliantly but could not deliver the final and the most important touch. They will now have their task cut out as they would first think of equalising and then find the winner which is not going to be easy against this quality opposition. Join us in a while for the second half.

GOALLL!!!
ATK FC opens the scoring. A wonderful, wonderful goal from the visiting side. It is Pronay Halder, who has scored a calm and composed goal. Roy Krishna gets the ball outside the box on the left side. He tucks it in the path of David Williams who runs with it inside the box. He though does not have any angle to work with. So he waits and waits and then as he sees Pronay rushing ahead, David passes it in front of him. Pronay easily puts it in with his right foot towards the bottom right corner.

Another brilliant run from Mumbai in front of the goal. This time it is started by Diego Carlos. After dribbling past his marker, he makes an excellent pass towards Amine Chermiti. Chermiti runs forward with it and then tucks it in the path of Modou Sougou. The Senegalese though hits it straight to Arindam Bhattacharja.

It is match 51 of the Indian Super League and today, Mumbai City FC will host ATK FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. Mumbai City FC will be pumped up coming into this match as they are currently enjoying a 6-match unbeaten run. Mumbai have also been potent in front of goal, scoring 2 or more goals in 7 of their last 8 matches. The secret to their success has been multiple scorers from all across the pitch, which has instilled confidence in their attacking philosophy. The hosts ended the year on a high as they defeated Hyderabad FC 2-1 to move to 4th position in the points table and if they win today they will move above ATK FC as well into 3rd. The hosts have been hit with a key injury as Paulo Machado has been ruled out of this game. Serge Kevyn and Modou Sougou will the major cause of concern for the ATK defence. However, Mumbai City FC have conceded 17 goals so far this season and that has been a problem for them. Coming to the visitors, they are one of the best sides in ISL. They will have a simple objective in mind today, win the game and move closer to table-toppers FC Goa. Roy Krishna and David Williams will be the partners in crime as they will look to put pressure on the Mumbai City FC defence. Javier Hernandez will be the creator-in-chief for them. The defence for ATK has been doing very well too, conceding just 9 goals so far in the season. It will be extremely difficult for the Islanders to break down this defence but one of the weaknesses that they have is from crosses and the hosts will be targeting that. Who will win this match between these two historical ISL teams?
