Ciao
That's it from this game then. In the final game of the year, Mumbai City FC is taking on Hyderabad FC at home. The game starts at 1930 (IST) on Sunday. We will love to have your company for that game. Till then, cheers!
Awards
The Club Award is shared. Asamoah Gyan gets the Limitless Player of the Match Award. Bartholomew Ogbeche collects the Winning Pass of the Match Award. Rakesh Pradhan takes the ISL Emerging Player of the Match Award while Mario Arques is handed over the Hero of the Match Award.
Points shared
NorthEast United FC hold the hosts for a draw through a penalty goal from Asamoah Gyan. The call for the penalty was a harsh one but NorthEast United FC would not mind. Redeem Tlang will remember the chance he missed in the 58th minute of the match. They had a chance in the 68th minute when Lalthathanga Khawlhring smashed a volley but TP Rehenesh denied the visitors a chance to take a lead. Kerala Blasters FC, on the other hand, took the lead through a penalty too but that came in the first half of the game. They battled hard but could not create any clear-cut chances. In the end, both the sides finished by sharing points.

Terrific volley but brilliant save
Rakesh Pradhan takes a throw-in from the left. It falls to an opposition player who looks to clear it away with a header. However, his header is not strong and the ball moves to Lalthathanga Khawlhring. Lalthathanga turns with the ball nicely and looks to slam it in the far post but TP Rehenesh dives to his left and collects the ball nicely.
66'
What a run
Panagiotis Triadis gets the ball on the counter-attack. He makes a brilliant run with it from the left side. Just wide
Redeem Tlang misses out a golden opportunity to give NorthEast United FC a lead. Asamoah Gyan passes the ball to his left superbly towards Redeem who has no one in front of him to tackle. He takes it inside the box with few touches and then targets the bottom right corner of the net. However, it goes just wide. He should've scored there and he knows it too as he looks at the heavens.
55'

Hosts ahead after the first 45
Finish of an exciting half which started very slowly but during the end minutes, Kerala made most chances as they kept the ball with themselves nicely. Subhasish Roy looked at his best as he denied the hosts a couple of times with superb saves. However, his attempt of clearing the ball away from danger ended up Kerala Blasters FC getting a penalty. Ogbeche scored through it to give his side the lead. NorthEast United FC skipper Asamoah Gyan will rue the chance he got in the 20th minute when he missed out a chance to score the goal. Had he hit, the story in the first half could've been different. Also, his goal was disallowed in the 36th minute when he was caught offside. Anyway, the hosts have gone to the break with a goal lead. Will they be able to hold onto it and bag three points or will we see the Highlanders' make a comeback? Join us to find out the same in the final 45.

Penalty
Minutes before the half time whistle, Kerala Blasters FC have got a penalty. Subhasish Roy cannot believe it and he gets a booking for his reaction as well. He gets to the ball but Subhasish Roy is off his mark to intervene. However, Bartholomew Ogbeche gets the first touch and Subhasish Roy ends up bringing him down. The referee spots it quickly and signals for a penalty.

32'
Poor tackle
Heerings Kai tries to win the ball from Bartholomew Ogbeche. He though, while trying to do that makes a poor tackle and takes the hosts' skipper down. Luckily, does not get a booking for it.
25'
Poor cross
Lalthathanga Khawlhring gets the ball on the right flank. He keeps it with him for a while and seeing Redeem Tlang in front, he passes it to him. Redeem crosses the ball in front of the goal but TP Rehenesh comes forward and collects it easily.
20'
What a miss!!!
Can you believe it? Of all, it is skipper, Asamoah Gyan who misses out a clear opportunity. Lalthathanga Khawlhring makes a brilliant pass in front of him towards Asamoah Gyan. The skipper takes the ball forward with a run and enters the box. He has only TP Rehenesh, the goalkeeper, in front of him. He tries to drill the ball in at the top left corner but hits it way over the bar.
15'
Hosts' dominating so far
Kerala Blasters FC with 66% ball possession are controlling the game well so far. However, they are still looking for that final touch that can help them take the lead in this game.
13'
Gave the ball away
Asamoah Gyan from the right passes the ball ahead brilliantly towards Redeem Tlang. Tlang though instead of making a run in front of him tries to score from way outside the box and ends up hitting it straight to TP Rehenesh.
11'
Just wide
Panagiotis Triadis takes the free kick from the left flank. He hits it towards the goal where Asamoah Gyan leaps high in the air and looks to head the ball in but it goes just wide.
8'
Brilliant save
Raju Gaikwad from the mid-field chips the ball to find Bartholomew Ogbeche but it falls to the opposition player who heads it in front of him. It though is not cleared and falls to Prasanth Karuthadathkuni. Prasanth drills it on the volley and towards the left corner but Subhasish Roy does really well to block it away.
6'
Good play
Seityasen Singh looks to pass the ball towards Prasanth Karuthadathkuni from the right flank as he sees Karuthadathkuni making a run. However, Singh's touch is a heavy one and before Prasanth can get anywhere near the ball, Subhasish Roy comes in and collects the ball.
5'
Foul
Mario Arques in an attempt of winning the ball takes down Redeem Tlang in the middle of the pitch. Luckily for him, no card there.
2'
Heavy touch
Prasanth Karuthadathkuni from the right flank looks to cross the ball to Seityasen Singh. However, Mislav Komorski covers the ball and does not allow Singh to get around it. He escorts it past the byline for a goalkick.
1'

Matchday!
It is time for game no. 48 in the Indian Super League. Languishing at 9th position on the points table, Kerala Blasters FC host NorthEast United FC. The hosts, after winning their first game of the season, are winless and will be eager to win their second match of the season. With the tournament heading towards the business end, the hosts would have to win games to stay in contention of the top four spots. However, their defense has been poor and they will have to step up their game against the visitors. Bartholomew Ogbeche, Sahal Abdul Samad and Sergio Cidoncha have struggled of late too. Ogbeche and Messi Bouli are the two players who have scored most of their goals so far this season. NorthEast United FC, on the other hand, started their season well and remained unbeaten in their first 6 games. However, after that, they lost two matches with their defense doing poorly in those games as they conceded five goals. Their attack, like the defense, has not done well and the possible return of Gyan will be a booster for the visitors. Will the hosts be able to end their losing streak or will the Highlanders bag three points from this game?
