Awards!
The Club Award goes to MCFC for winning the game. The Hero of the Match Award goes to Mehtab Singh.
Still unbeaten!
MCFC get their second win of the campaign to move up into 2nd place on the points table and keep their unbeaten run going. They started well and went ahead in the twenty-first minute of the game as Mehtab Singh hammered the loose ball past Prabhsukhan Gill. MCFC showed a lot of creativity and doubled the lead via Jorge Diaz's cool finish in the thirty-first minute of the game. Upon resumption, it was KBFC that created plenty of chances and came close to scoring their first. MCFC managed to survive that spell of pressure by KBFC without conceding a goal. Ivan Vukomanovic kept ringing in changes in his quest to find a goal, but KBFC seemed to lack the finish tonight. So, it is MCFC that return home with three points from tonight's game. KBFC will be disappointed with this performance in front of their home crowd and will now shift their focus towards their next game against NorthEast United FC.

Tired legs!
Both KBFC and MCFC are still attacking but the end product isn't quite there as the attackers have been at it for a long time now. It has been a brilliant second half but is has lacked goals.
90'
Added time!
Adrian Luna is fouled by Vinit Rai around the center of the park and as Luna goes down, he holds his calf. Maybe, a bit of cramp and the physio is out to have a look. Also, the officials have added on a minimum of 6 minutes at the end of the second half.
87'
No respite!
Ivan Kaliuzhnyi appeals for a penalty but the referee dismisses his claim. Kaliuzhnyi finds himself around the by-line on the right side of the box and tries to keep the ball in play. Greg Stewart though does his defensive duties well and makes sure he gets across. Eventually, the ball goes behind for a goal kick but there is a slight touch from Stewart on Kaliuzhnyi, not anywhere enough to be deemed as a penalty though.
83'
Cynical foul!
Ivan Kaliuzhnyi gets into the referee's book now. KBFC look to start an attack from the middle of the park but Greg Stewart steals the ball off Kaliuzhnyi who then pulls back his shirt and brings him down. MCFC had a good chance to counter there and hence, the booking.

Frantic play!
KBFC should have cut the deficit in half. Brilliant play by Jessel Carneiro on the left side of the box as he receives the ball from Adrian Luna and then just crosses it back to him. Luna brings it under control and thumps the volley with his left foot. The ball pings off the inside of the right post and it is kept in play. Towards the end of the play, Jessel sends in a delicious ball to the right far post and Rahul Kannoly Praveen has a free header but fails to hit the target.

Shot blocked!

62'
Change!
Looks like Jorge Diaz is limping and will be replaced by Alberto Noguera. Diaz though has done his job and MCFC need fresh legs on the field as KBFC keep on staying on the front foot in this half.

52'
Just wide!
KBFC getting close now! Adrian Luna gets a ball on the left flank. He takes a touch and crosses it well in the box. Dimitrios Diamantakos gets an open header in the box and attempts it well. It just goes wide off the right post.

46'
Resumption!
KBFC is to get the second half underway and they will now attack from right to left. No changes made by either side at the interval.
Cruising through!
It was MCFC that began the game on the front foot. They showed a lot of promise in the final third and were eventually rewarded with a goal that broke the deadlock. Mehtab Singh pounced on an uncleared corner and blasted it past the keeper with his left foot to open the scoring in the 21st minute. MCFC created even more chances since then and as a result, doubled the lead via Jorge Diaz's strike in the thirty-first minute. With already two goals to the good, MCFC will be looking to put the game to bed in the second half. On the other hand, KBFC, who have lacked creativity, need to make their chances count in the second half.
45'

Great defending!
A good counter attack by MCFC. Greg Stewart slots this one nicely into the way of rushing Lallianzuala Chhangte on the right flank. Just when he is about to pull the trigger, the KBFC defender puts in a brave challenge and averts the danger.

Half a chance!
MCFC bossing play at the moment. Greg Stewart wins a free kick a few yards away from the box and stands over the ball as well. Stewart chips it in towards the right far side and it is headed towards the opposite side by Rostyn Griffiths. Jorge Diaz is a bit late to react and is put off by a KBFC defender as well. The ball hits the head of Diaz and goes behind for a goal kick.
13'
Wasteful in the end!
Greg Stewart is dictating play well in the middle of the park and plays a few neat passes around the edge of the box. The ball is then played out wide right towards Lallianzuala Chhangte who has ample space and time. Chhangte though decides to just cut in a touch and has a pop with his left boot. The shot is well over the crossbar.
9'
Good tempo!
Neither side is just sitting deep and both are trying to get onto the front foot. MCFC are able to press their opponents and get the ball into the final third a bit more. However, there hasn't been anything clinical yet from either side.
5'
High and wide!
Nice bit of play from MCFC. Mehtab plays a long ball forward on the left flank and finds Bipin Singh who smartly just dabs it towards Ahmed Jahouh inside the box. Jahouh then pulls it back towards Jorge Diaz who looks to find Stewart on the right side but Jessel comes in with the crucial interception. The rebound is hit by Lalengmawia Ralte but his shot is well over the crossbar.
2'
Let off the hook!
MCFC skipper Rahul Bheke is lucky there to get away with a big error. Prabhsukhan Gill launches a long ball deep into the MCFC and around the left blank. Bheke rises up and looks to clear it away but flicks it on backward and into the path of Dimitrios Diamantakos who just can't quite get it under control.

Let's Football!
We are underway as MCFC get the ball rolling. They will attack from the right to the left of the screen and are set up in a 4-3-3 formation. KBFC have opted for a classic 4-4-2 formation. Will we see a goal in the first 45 minutes?
Toss
The flip of the coin lands in favor of MCFC. Rahul Bheke has decided that they will kick off in the first half. Jessel Carneiro decides that KBFC will attack from left to right in the first half.
National Anthem!
We are minutes away from the start of the match but first, the two sets of players walk out of the tunnel and line up for the Indian national anthem.
Prabhsukhan Gill (GK), Harmanjot Khabra, Marko Leskovic, Victor Mongil, Jessel Carneiro (C), Jeakson Singh, Adrian Luna, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, Sahal Samad, Rahul Kannoly Praveen and Dimitrios Diamantakos.
High-scoring affair!
MCFC find themselves in fourth place but could have easily been further up the table had they been more clinical in their last game. Having found a late equalizer against HFC in their first encounter that ended 3-3 they have shown great fortitude at the back with the attackers creating ample chances upfront but were unable to put the last game to bed. KBFC started the campaign with a resounding win but their frailties in defense has seen them concede 8 goals so far in the league. Having said that they have scored at least a goal in each game so they will know that if they restrict the goals at the back they have a good chance of winning their games. MCFC have won 6 of the 16 games that the two teams have played against each other with KBFC winning 4 and the remaining 6 ending in a draw. The hosts will draw confidence from their performance against MCFC in the Hero ISL 2021-22 season, winning the away fixture 3-0 before winning the home fixture 3-1. Rostyn Griffiths and Mehtab Singh are forming a formidable partnership at the back for the visitors and the introduction of Alberto Noguera in the starting eleven has shored up their midfield. Greg Stewart can be dangerous up front but would like to have more goals under his belt while Lallianzuala Chhangte will be high on confidence after his goal in the last game. KBFC made no changes to their back-line after their 5-2 drubbing at the hands of ATKMB and the defense conceded two goals once again. They may look to get Victor Mongil in the playing eleven in place of Ruivah Hormipam but will then need to sacrifice an overseas player up top. Adrian Luna has been in good form creating ample opportunities upfront with Ivan Kaliuzhnyi deployed in attack after his brace in the first game. Ivan has failed to make an impact though and this could make way for Rahul Kannoly Praveen to make a start after impressing off the bench. Will MCFC avenge their double loss in the Hero ISL 2021-22 and move up the table? Or will KBFC end their run of two losses and emerge victorious?
Hunt for a win!
It is time for the second game in matchweek 4 as the football festival heads into the weekend in the Hero Indian Super League 2022-23 with both teams in desperate need of registering a win under their belt. Kerala Blasters FC will be playing their third home game in their first four matches and will host Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. The hosts won their first game of the campaign but since have lost two consecutive games with a 2-1 defeat to OFC in their previous match. MCFC are unbeaten in the league so far but two draws have kept them languishing middle of the table having conceded an early lead against JFC drawing 1-1 in their last game. MCFC had a good run in the Hero ISL 2020-21 season but could not match up to expectations last year while KBFC were runners-up in Hero ISL 2021-22. KBFC will be looking to grab crucial points and move up the table while MCFC will be looking to convert stalemates to important victories and ascertain their credentials as one of the favorites. This has all the making of an enthralling contest and there is much to look forward to.
