So Kerala Blasters FC go top despite drawing this one, whereas Mumbai City FC get their first point on the board in a hard-fought game. Also, this should give them confidence heading into the next one. There is still time for their next game but ISL action continues as Chennaiyin FC lock horns with FC Goa in the former's den on Saturday at 1930 IST. Till then goodbye and take care!

Mumbai leave it late to secure a point!
What an end to the game! The way it was all going, a Kerala Blasters FC win look destined. At least till the 90th minute as the visitors were struggling big time in front of goal. They just could not hit the target when given a chance and also lacked the final pass quite a few times. They did come out with more intent in the second half but Kerala remained the better team. They were once again more dominant but did not create any clear-cut opportunities. As the game progressed, the away side started getting more chances. They though failed to take them and just as the three points were heading towards the hosts, Pranjal Bhumij, who was brought on from the bench, scored an absolute screamer to salvage a point for Mumbai City FC.

GOALLLL!
Mumbai City FC have stolen a point in Kerala and what a strike to salvage a draw. WOW! An absolute thunderbolt. Uff! The substitute has made an impact and in some style. Pranjal Bhumij gets the ball around 35-yards out. He turns, takes a touch and them puts his laces through the ball. The strike has got a lot of power and it dips just in time, beating the keeper's fingertips and into the net. 1-1 with not a lot of time left.

Golden opportunity!
Dheeraj Singh goes for a ball which is lobbed in but fails to collect it as he is put under pressure by Lucian Goian. It falls to Modou Sougou who takes a shot on goal. He, however, does not connect well and hits it wide. He had time there, maybe could have taken another touch. This can prove very costly.

Almost...
The equalizer... Arnold Issoko puts Sauvik Chakrabarti through on the right hand side. He takes a venomous shot towards goal but the ball whizzes past the face of it. Coming closer is the away side.
66'
Inches away...
From increasing their advantage, Kerala Blasters FC. Halicharan Narzary chips in a ball towards the far post. There were two men there but his cross is not a good one. However, it is defended even poorly as Sehnaj Singh tries to clear but it falls to Slavisla Stojanovic. He takes a touch to his right and then tries to curl it into the far post from the left but it is just wide.

Another change...
For Kerala Blasters FC as they get in Courage Pekuson for Matej Poplatnik. A midfielder comes in for a forward, a change in formation? Maybe.

Have to do more...
Once again Mumbai City FC are successful in entering the box of Kerala Blasters FC blaster. Arnold Issoko however, tries to cut it back to his player but the defender clears it away. That is exactly what is lacking, the final pass.
46'
Volley...
But straight to the keeper. A corner which is cleared lobs towards Sahal Abdul Samad, he hits the volley well but straight to Amrinder Singh who saves it.
46'
Second half!
It is Kerala Blasters FC this time who gets us underway. They pass the ball behind and now look to more forward.
45'
Half time!
The ref blows the whistle and it is half time. Kerala Blasters FC head into the break in the lead and rightly so. They started as the brighter side and have continued dominating. The hosts were eventually rewarded for their domination in the 24th minute when Halicharan Narzary took them into the lead. They would look for more of the same in the second half. Mumbai City FC, on the other hand, did not start the game well. However, they have managed to improve as the game progressed, their play in the attacking third remained mediocre. They have had an attack or two of their own but nothing very threatening. The tourists need to come out with more intent in the second 45 if they want to get some points from this encounter. Join us for the action in a short while.

A minute added to the first half!
Around 60 more seconds to go in this half!

GOALLLL!
Kerala Blasters FC have taken the lead and the crowd here erupts. A lovely backheel from Slavisla Stojanovic towards Seiminlen Doungel. He chips the ball over the defense just before it crosses the byline. It finds Halicharan Narzary on the left hand side of the goal. He taps it down, settles himself and then blasts it towards the near post. Amrinder Singh was expecting the shot to go the other way and hence could not react.

First chance for Mumbai! Paulo Machado swings in a free kick to which Lucian Goian tries to head it on goal but his effort is just wide. There were two defenders trying to put him off and they have succeeded.

A heavy touch!
By Slavisla Stojanovic as he collects a through ball by Matej Poplatnik down the left. But his touch is a little too heavy and he then tries to cross it in but the ball is blocked and it goes out for a corner. A good set-piece as it finds Sandesh Jhingan but he heads it over.

Good start!
For Kerala Blasters FC, they have the better chance and also more ball possession. A nervy start for Mumbai City FC on the other hand.

What a save!
The first real chance of the game falls to Kerala Blasters FC and one would say they should have been 1 up. Mohamad Rakip plays a delightful cross-field ball which sets Halicharan Narzary through on the left hand side. He plays it across goal on the first touch. It goes towards Seiminlen Doungel who takes a shot on goal but Amrinder Singh moves quickly to his left, gets low and makes a very good save. Lovely from the keeper.

The Friday Evening Clash!
Match number 7 of the Indian Super League 2018-19 will see Kerala Blasters FC colliding with Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi. The visiting side faced a loss in their tournament opener and are now travelling to Kochi, a place where they are yet to win against the home team. In their last match against Jamshedpur FC, their frontline and defence looked quite rusty and they would be aiming to improve from that dismal outing. In the second half of that match, the Boys in Blue were a lot better with their crosses and attempted shots and would hope to carry that momentum into this game. Kerala Blasters, on the other hand, enjoyed a fine outing in the inaugural match of this season where they thumped ATK in an away game. They will be flying high on confidence and would like to begin their home season with yet another resounding win. Their defence was clinical against the 2-time champions while with 22 shots in the game, resulting in two goals, their performance in the attacking third was also amazing. Now, it's just about maintaining the same intensity for them. Let's see what the evening has in store for us.
