Awards
The Club Award is won by Hyderabad FC for emerging as the better side this evening. The Hero of the Match Award goes to Nikhil Poojary.
HFC maintain their unbeaten streak!
Yet another half of engrossing football and Hyderabad FC managed to hold on to their lead in the end. They were the better team in the first half, gaining an early goal in the 8th minute through Yasir's clean header, and maintained good pressure throughout. The picture changed slightly in the second 45, with Odisha FC looking more organised in the attacking third. They started brightly by creating many opportunities but failed to get anything past the robust defensive line of HFC. Hyderabad FC also tried their best to earn the insurance goal, but Odisha's defense was equally stubborn in the second half. In the end, it turned out to be a game of equals but a little bit of extra quality in the final third handed Hyderabad FC all three points. The defending champions are looking like a team on a mission and are opening a handy gap with the other teams on the table.
90'
Full time
The referee blows the final whistle and it is HFC who win the game 1-0 and make it four wins in a row.
90'
Double substitution
As HFC try to run the clock down, they make a further couple of changes. HFC bring on Aaren D'Silva and Sahil Tavora for Mohammad Yasir and Hitesh Sharma. Can they hang on to this narrow lead?

Added time
The official signal is that there will be a minimum of 5 minutes added on to the 90.
87'
Assured defending
Odei Onaindia keeps his composure. Saul Crespo wins the ball well around the middle of the park and plays a lofted ball over the HFC defense. Isak tries to chase it down but Odei gets to it first and takes it out of harm's way.
84'
One more change
The changes keep on coming. With just a few minutes of the 90 remaining, OFC want fresh legs on the pitch to trouble the HFC defenders. Narender Gahlot is brought on for Denechandra Meitei as a final roll of the dice.
83'
Substitution

82'
Speculative attempt
Isak Vanlalruatfela with a good shot on goal. OFC win the ball in the middle of the park and the ball is then played through to the feet of Isak on the right side. An HFC defender does just enough to push Isak wide but he does get the shot away. Laxmikant Kattimani dives low to his left and makes the save.
79'
Double change!
OFC make a couple of changes as they continue to chase the game. Paul Ramfangzauva comes in for Isaac Chhakchhuak who himself came on as a substitute early in the first half. Jerry Mawihmingthanga is also taken off and Isak Vanlalruatfela comes in to replace him.

74'
Heavy touch!
Bartholomew Ogbeche with another opportunity to put the game to bed. Mohammad Yasir receives the ball on the left flank and shows neat footwork before sliding it across to Ogbeche making a run inside the box. Ogbeche skips past an OFC defender but overcooks it and OFC are able to clear their lines.
70'
Vital save!
Amrinder Singh keeps OFC in the game. Bartholomew Ogbeche flicks it on for Joel Chianese around the edge of the box and the latter does well to find space between defenders and square the ball back towards Ogbeche. Ogbeche just tries to finesse the ball past the keeper but Amrinder springs to his left and clears it away.
69'
Another change
HFC make yet another change as they look to keep their lead intact. Borja Herrera who has been struggling with cramps has been taken off and Joel Chianese comes on to replace him.
68'
Substitution

66'
A golden chance goes abegging!
HFC should have been 2-0 up here. Halicharan Narzary wins a corner as he tries to put in a low cross from the left flank. The corner is whipped in by Borja Herrera and Akash Mishra is left completely unmarked. The ball falls to his feet right in front of the face of goal but Mishra isn't expecting it. He tries to get it on target but slips and OFC are able to clear it away.
61'
Man down
Borja Herrera is struggling with fitness here. More than 15 minutes have passed in the second half and still, it is OFC who trail by a goal. They have however shown signs of improvement but HFC will be aware that a second goal for them will all but secure the 3 points.
58'
Substitution!
HFC make their first change of the game. Javier Siverio is taken off and on comes the crowd favorite Bartholomew Ogbeche in place of him.

56'
Offside!
Absolutely end-to-end action going on here. Nandhakumar Sekar is adjudged offside as he nonchalantly puts the ball in the back of the net and it was a really close call. Just a few moments earlier though HFC had the chance to double their lead as the OFC defense was left gaping. Borja Herrera played the ball into the feet of Hitesh Sharma inside the box but Hitesh fluffed his lines and missed the target.
53'
OFC on the charge
Much better from OFC in the second half. Excellent work on the left flank from Nandhakumar Sekar as he is able to beat the HFC defender and run down the left flank. He looks up and sends a cross in towards the far post. Jerry Mawihmingthanga leaps up and gets his head to it but the ball deflects off the defender and goes behind for a corner.
51'
Should have done better
The substitute Pedro Martin has his first attempt on goal. HFC defenders try to clear the ball but it is Osama Malik who wins the header and sends the ball forward. Pedro Martin does well to turn his marker inside-out and from the left edge of the box has a pop. He doesn't catch it well and Laxmikant Kattimani collects the ball with ease.
48'
Steady start
HFC, just like they did in the first half, make another bright start here. Both their fullbacks, Nikhil Poojary and Akash Mishra are making forward runs and trying to get a ball inside the box. OFC continue to chase the game.
46'
Resumption!
We are back for the second half and it will be OFC who will get the ball rolling. They will now attack from right to left of the screen and OFC have also made a change at the break with Diego Mauricio coming off and Pedro Martin replacing him up front.
46'
Substitution

HFC with the advantage!
An enthralling half of footballing action comes to an end and it is HFC who lead OFC 1-0 at the break. HFC started on the front foot and the early pressure was fruitful as Halicharan Narzary showed some fine trickery to set up the header for Mohammad Yasir in the eighth minute to give them the lead. After that, both teams did have half-chances as OFC tried to get back on level terms. HFC's defense though remained astute and they never really let the likes of Diego Mauricio and Nandhakumar Sekar have a real sight at goal. HFC are a team that looks to get goals and OFC have already come back from the brink twice in Hero ISL 2022-23, so yet another exciting half of end-to-end action is expected.
45'
Half time
The referee blows the whistle and the first half comes to a close. HFC are leading the game 1-0.
45'
Last attempt
Chinglensana Singh chips it towards Halicharan Narzary who takes the ball on the left side and then attempts a cross. It gets cleared away though and that's that in this half.
45'
Added time
Just one minute added to this half. Will we see any late drama?
42'
No way forward
Saul Crespo wrestles back the ball in the right flank and chips it forward in the hope to find Diego Mauricio but once again HFC are on the money with their defending and clear the danger.
38'
Alert goalkeeping
Diego Mauricio eases it towards Nandhakumar Sekar on the left flank who tries to put in a run but he is intercepted with a side from one of the HFC players and the ball ends up hurrying inside the box. Laxmikant Kattimani is alert and gathers it safely.
33'
Another attempt
Mohammad Yasir does a great job to beat a few defenders and find a way to pass it to Javier Siverio inside the box who fails to turn and shoot. The ball falls back to Mohammad Yasir who pulls the trigger but hits it wide of the post.
30'
Golden chance missed
Halicharan Narzary has wasted a golden chance to double the lead. Excellent overlapping run on the right flank and Nikhil Poojary and Joao Victor combine to create this chance. Poojary takes the ball inside and passes it on to Halicharan Narzary who is left unmarked but mishits his attempt.
29'
Up and over
OFC finally manage to take the ball inside the box. Isaac Chhakchhuak finds the ball on the right flank and swings it near the second post where Saul Crespo jumps but heads it over the frame of goal.
28'
Compact at the back
OFC are trying their best to thread a pass and build a move but HFC have been very compact at the back and cancelling out every challenge so far. Not offering much space at the centre to OFC at the moment.
24'
Strong defending
A through ball is meant for Diego Mauricio inside the box but Joao Victor is alert and makes the first move. He takes the ball away from the OFC striker and does well to avert the danger.
19'
Superb interception
Nikhil Poojary comes to the rescue for HFC! Diego Mauricio runs forward with the ball and eases it towards Nandhakumar Sekar who sprints inside the box. Spotting the danger, Nikhil Poojary intercepts and outmuscles Sekar to take the ball away from danger. Brilliant.
19'
Substitution
Substitution - Odisha FC (In: Isaac Chhakchhuak, Out: Raynier Fernandes)
16'
Dragged it wide
Borja Herrera fails to find the target. The attack starts from Nikhil Poojary on the right flank who tries to send a cross inside the box but it's headed out. The ball once again finds its way to the HFC players as OFC are quite loose in the midfield. Borja Herrera is served the ball who pulls the trigger from a long range but he drags it wide of the target.
12'
HFC maintaining pressure
Hyderabad FC are holding the game by keeping possession and are trying to create more pressure. For now, OFC are looking off-colour, hardly seeing the ball and making any move.
8'
GOOOALLLLL
HFC have the lead early in the game! Brilliant, brilliant game from Hyderabad FC coupled with some poor defending from OFC. Halicharan Narzary shows fancy footwork to beat Denechandra Meitei on the left flank and finds a way to send a cross right at the face of goal. Mohammad Yasir is left unmarked inside the box and he heads it home, past Amrinder Singh. Sahil Panwar looked lost there while marking Yasir, a bit surprising as he has been in some great form in this season.
8'
Goal
Goal - Hyderabad FC : Yasir
6'
Midfield battle
A physical battle is going on at the moment. Both teams are trying to find a way forward but so far the defenders have stood tall at both ends and not allowed any openings.
3'
Excellent run
OFC attempt to find a way to penetrate the HFC half but Nikhil Poojary wins the ball and runs on the counter. He sprints forward from the right side but his last touch is too heavy and the ball goes away from him and OFC regain possession.
2'
Joao Victor is down!
The ball is played on the left flank and Joao Victor goes for it along with Thoiba Singh. The latter brings down Joao who is down in pain. Nothing serious though as the HFC skipper is back on his feet after absorbing all the pain.
1'
Let's Football
It's time to get going. HFC have opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation as opposed to OFC's 4-3-3. The team dressed in yellow gets the first touch on the ball and here we go. Let's Football.
Toss
The flip of the coin lands in favour of HFC. Joao Victor opts to kick off and Carlos Delgado chooses to attack from left to right in the first half.
National Anthem
We are minutes away from the start of the match but first, the two sets of players walk out of the tunnel and line up for the Indian national anthem.
OFC (Starting XI) -
Amrinder Singh (GK), Denechandra Meitei, Carlos Delgado (C), Sahil Panwar, Osama Malik, Thoiba Singh, Saul Crespo, Raynier Fernandes, Jerry Mawihmingthanga, Nandhakumar Sekar and Diego Mauricio.
HFC (Starting XI) -
Laxmikant Kattimani (GK), Nikhil Poojary, Chinglensana Singh, Odei Onaindia, Akash Mishra, Borja Herrera, Joao Victor (C), Hitesh Sharma, Mohammad Yasir, Halicharan Narzary and Javier Siverio.
Clash of teams on a roll
It's shaping up to be a spicy contest as both Hyderabad FC and Odisha FC have built good momentum. HFC started the Hero ISL 2022-23 with a hard-fought draw against Mumbai City FC but since then have pulled up their socks. They are on a roll and have a fiery momentum behind them. Following a 3-match winning streak, Hyderabad FC will be confident to topple Odisha FC in their own den. HFC are looking like a potent unit with a dominant performance at both ends of the pitch. Their attacking game is going strong with Bartholomew Ogbeche leading the pack and their backline is equally robust after bagging three clean sheets in a row. Odisha FC, on their part, have also gained back-to-back wins and will be looking to continue their good run of form. They though will have to get their act together in the attacking third in order to run HFC close. The defensive line managed to keep its first clean sheet of the season in the last match against Bengaluru FC and that will pack them with much-needed confidence for the coming games. In the H2H battle between these two teams, it's a close fight with Hyderabad FC edging it out 3-2 in terms of wins. This fixture is known to produce plenty of goals and we can expect a high-scoring humdinger.
Super Saturday
In the first game of the double-header Saturday, Hyderabad FC will be facing Odisha FC at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium. HFC are sitting handsomely on top of the points table and are the only unbeaten team alongside Mumbai City FC. It's been a great start to the season for them and they will be looking to extend their good run against Odisha FC who are also occupying a spot in the top half of the table. Both teams are looking in fine form and rhythm, and we can expect an entertaining game of football.
