Hapless Hyderabad FC host hopeful Mumbai City FC
A team pinned at the bottom of the points table is all set to host a team hopeful of breaking into the top four. Hyderabad FC will host Mumbai City FC in match 66 of the Indian Super League. After encountering a disappointing season and getting eliminated fairly early from the race for the playoffs, Hyderabad FC have nothing much to play for apart from their pride. It's been a debut season to forget for them as they failed to come to terms of the competitiveness of the Indian Super League. Owning the record for the worst defensive team of this edition, Hyderabad have serious issues at the back which they have failed to fix. There is quality in their forward line but they have not been able to express themselves much as the defensive frailties more often than not force them to play at the back rather than creating output in front of the goal. Their winless run has now stretched to ten matches which includes four losses on the bounce. In short, there's struggle written all over the place and it is appearing next to impossible for them to change things around. Mumbai City FC have been an inconsistent team but they have also shown great form time and again. Winning their previous fixture against a top team like Bengaluru FC, would have given them the boost as they prepare to regain their spot in the top four. The form of Modou Sougou has been critical for them and he will continue to be the nucleus around whom the whole attacking line will revolve. The Islanders though have similar issues at the back like Hyderabad FC, as they have been shaky and leaky, having the record for the second-worst defensive unit. Their form on the road has been very impressive though with just one loss from 7 games. The visitors are the favourites to win this contest but facing a team that has nothing to lose is always a dangerous proposition. Let's hope for a cracking game of football.
