Awards

Full time!
The referee blows the whistle to signal the end of the game. The win propels NorthEast United FC into the second position in the standings. Another clean sheet, another goal for Bartholomew Ogbeche and a penalty converted by Juan Mascia were the highlights. FC Pune City, meanwhile are having a horror season as they slumped to their 6th defeat of the season. Another defensive failure and nothing to show despite a lot of attacks. As for the game, the gap was basically due to the finishing prowess and the Highlanders were just a little better off than their opposition. The Stallions will have to go back and look at the possible changes they can make as time is fast running out for them in this edition. Be with us for the Awards ceremony in a bit!

Another block by FC Pune City
Juan Mascia shows off his dribbling skills as he beats a couple of defenders and then takes a shot on target. The huge figure of Matt Mills is again in the way and the ball goes out for a corner. He has been brilliant at the back in this game. Pune could have been even further behind if not for him.
80'
Slight halt in play
The physio of NorthEast United FC is on the field to check on Federico Gallego who is holding his left hip and seems to be writhing in pain. The ref hurries them on thinking it might be a ploy to waste precious time.

Half-time!
Quite a see-saw half of football but it ends with the visitors having their noses ahead by virtue of a Bartholomew Ogbeche goal. There have been lots of chances created and wasted. The goalkeepers have been good but the same cannot be said about the finishing of the strikers. The Stallions have pushed hard for an equaliser but just lacked the final touch so far. Lets hope we get to see some more good football as well as goals in the second half. Do join us in a bit for the second half.
45'
Added time
One minute has been added on to the half as added time.
43'
Another ball in the box but no goal
Robin Singh crosses into the path of Marcelo Pereira who gets his shot on target but it is blocked by Gurwinder Singh and the ball goes away for a corner. The following corner is crossed into the box where there is lot of confusion and it looked as if the ball has ricocheted off Gurwinder's hand but the referee wants nothing to do with it. FC Pune City players are pleading but to no avail.
41'
Brilliant save from Pawan Kumar!
The free kick from the left side by Marcelo Pereira falls perfectly onto the head of Matt Mills and his header is on target but the ball is saved by a diving Pawan Kumar. The rebound falls in open space but no FC Pune City player can get a shot away and the score remains 0-1.
38'
Header goes just wide!
Marcelo Pereira delivers a corner into the box and finds the head of Adil Khan who nods it just wide. Good chance this!
34'
Iain Hume's first real chance
Sahil Panwar on the left of midfield dips in a beautiful cross for Iain Hume who makes a wonderful run inside the box. But his first touch is too heavy as the ball runs too ahead and the goalkeeper covers the angle of his attempted shot and the ball rolls out for a corner. FC Pune City pressing hard for an equalizer.
28'
Just over!
Bartholomew Ogbeche drops a beautiful pass for Federico Gallego who is in space outside the box. He powers a shot which fizzes just over the bar. So close to being 2-0!
23'
GOAALLLLL!
There he is again! Bartholomew Ogbeche with his 8th of the season! NorthEast United FC have taken the lead here and this was a mistake from the FC Pune City defense. The cross into the box from the corner wasn't cleared away properly and finds its way to the talismanic striker and he buries the ball away into left corner of the net. Kamaljit Singh was helpless and could only watch this one go in.

Good reactions from Kamaljit Singh
Reagan Singh hits a high ball into the box and Bartholomew Ogbeche just puts his foot at the ball and angles it in the direction of the goal. Kamaljit Singh dives to his right and pushes the ball out of play for a corner.
17'
Lots of wasted possession
Both teams giving away the ball too easily and no real chances are being created here.
13'
Two corners in a row for the home side
The first corner from Marcelo Pereira is not well cleared out by NorthEast United FC defense and the ball ends up at the feet of Ashique Kuruniyan who shoots on target but Pawan Kumar makes a good save and pushes it away for another corner. The second corner is poor and is cleared away by the visitors.
9'
The visitors' first attack
Bartholomew Ogbeche with the ball inside the FC Pune City box decides not to shoot and passes to Juan Mascia, who does not have the space to get his shot away. The hosts' defense then clears the ball away.
8'
Another FC Pune City attack
Ashique Kuruniyan from the left flank delivers a flat ball across the face of goal but the NorthEast United FC defense is wide awake to the situation and clears the danger.
5'
A slow start
Most of the game is being played in the midfield. NorthEast United FC are being pressed back but nothing serious as of yet. Missed passes here and there, and possession being lost cheaply.
1'
We are off and running!
FC Pune City set the ball rolling. Let's Football!
Toss

Hello and welcome
Match 41 of the Indian Super League will see FC Pune City take on NorthEast United FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune. The international break seemed to have given Pune some hope as they finally managed to register their first win by beating Jamshedpur FC last week. Iain Hume returned to action as a substitute and immediately there was a difference in the way his team looked going forward. They looked better defensively too as they did not let the Steelers create too many opportunities either. NorthEast United on the other hand, were trailing against Kerala Blasters and looked all but out before two goals in extra time gave them a victory that looked improbable. The two teams have played 8 games against each other and Pune have a 4-3 lead with one game ending in a draw. Will the Stallions manage to win their second game of the season or will the Highlanders manage to equal the H2H by winning tonight? Should be a good game, let's wait and watch as the starting whistle is not far away!
