Goodbye!
So that is it from this dramatic game of football. Chennaiyin FC win their first game of the season in the most dramatic fashion. They also go a place above the bottom. Hyderabad FC's struggle continues and to add to their woes, they go bottom of the table. Hope you had as much fun as we had bringing you this game. ISL action on Tuesday, 26th November sees FC Goa play host to Jamshedpur FC. That match will begin at 1930 IST. Hope to see you for that one. Till then, cheers!
Awards!
The Club Award went to Chennaiyin FC for winning the game. Nerijus Valskis bagged the Limitless Player of the Match Award. The Winning Pass of the Match Award went to Andre Schembri. The ISL Emerging Player of the Match Award had Vishal Kaith's name on it. And finally, Anirudh Thapa won the Hero of the Match Award.
Chennaiyin FC win in dramatic style!
WHAT A GAME! WHAT A FINISH! They say it's not over until the final whistle and that saying cannot be any more true. After a host of chances in the first half, the home side was unable to open the scoring while the away team was happy to hit them on the counter. It looked like we were heading for a goalless draw as the fourth official indicated 5 minutes of added time at the end of 90. But that was not to be. The home fans erupted when at the start of the injury time it looked like substitute Andre Schembri had not just opened Super Machans' account for the season but had also won them the game but their ecstasy did not last long as Matthew Kilgallon equalized immediately. This had to be the end right? 1-1 with just a few minutes remaining. That was not the case though. Andre Schembri was once again involved, and this time he turned provider. A hopeful cross from Germanpreet Singh was put in Schembri's way by Nerijus Valskis. Schembri was quick to play it first time back to Valskis who was calm in front of the goal and won the game for the home side in the dying seconds. The stadium once again went berserk and this time the away side had no time remaining to get the equalizer. Chennaiyin FC have finally managed to bag their first win of the season, albeit from late, late drama. It was heartbreak once again for Hyderabad FC as it looked like their shaky defense was finally going to get a clean sheet and a draw but ended up conceding 2 goals and go back home without any point.

GOAALLLL
One brings two and Chennaiyin FC have just got that. The crowd is going bonkers here. This has to be the winner, surely. What a frantic end this is turning out to be! WOW! Germanpreet Singh sends a hopeful cross from the right and it manages to find Nerijus Valskis who chests it towards Andre Schembri. He somehow manages to put it in the path of Nerijus Valskis who gets one-on-one with the keeper. He takes a touch, manages to keep his composure as Kamaljit Singh was charging in and slots it home on the right. No one can believe what is happening!

GOAALLLL!!!!!
Stop the press! Chennaiyin FC have finally opened their account for the 2019/20 season! They have found a way past Kamaljit Singh and finally they have a goal and what looks like a winner. The crowd here is going absolutely crazy. They have finally found their voice! Edwin Vanspaul sends a hopeful lobbed cross from the right. It bounces in front of Mohammed Yasir and his clearance is a soft one as it falls just in front. Andre Schembri gets to the spilled ball, he takes a touch and then shoots it low on the left. It squeezes past the diving Kamaljit Singh and finally the home side give their fan the joy that has been eloping them. Andre Schembri goes into the referee's book for removing his jersey in celebration. He won't mind that one bit as nothing could stop his jubilation.

Chennaiyin FC make their first change of the game. In fact they make two. Thoi Singh who was pacy on the wings but failed to help his side open their account in front of the goal makes way for Germanpreet Singh. Masih Saighani is also done for the evening and he makes way for Dragos Firtulescu. Looks like there will be a change in formation with these two changes. Some Brazillian magic here. Eli Sabia plays a one-two with Anirudh Thapa. When he gets it back at the edge of the box, Sabia takes a first time shot towards the far post. The ball clips the top of the crossbar! Kamaljit Singh was beaten there. This would have been a top goal.

Play resumes

45'
Chennaiyin FC's wait for goal continues
The home side has once again failed to find the back of the net in this half and their goalless start to the season continues. They were dominant with the ball and kept on building attack after attack but somehow could not find the back of the net. Their best chance came in at the 25th minute when Lallianzuala Chhangte missed his header from a relatively open goal. 7 minutes later Anirudh Thapa's effort was first saved by Kamaljit Singh and then cleared off the line by Matthew Kilgallon. Hyderabad FC were happy to counterattack and almost managed to head into the interval with a surprise lead but Robin Singh missed a one-on-one against the Chennaiyin FC keeper and managed to scruff his shot on the side-netting. The away side will be happy with their effort especially at the back. The home side should have opened the scoring but once again their shooting boots were missing. Can they manage to find the back of the net for the first time this season in the second half or will it be another day of drought for them? Join us after the break to find out.
45'

He sends in a very good low cross in an attempt to find Thoi Singh at the frame of the goal but Matthew Kilgallon has other ideas. He charges and puts in a brilliant tackle to take the ball away from Thoi and send it away for a corner. The resulting corner is dealt with by the away side.
42'

29'
Over the bar
Eli Sabia tries to win an aerial duel against Marko Stankovic but he ends up shoving him from behind. The referee spots it and awards a free kick to the away side at the edge of the box. Marcelo Pereira is up to take the set-piece and it is in a range for him to have a go. He does have a go but cannot make the ball dip and his effort goes over the bar.
25'
How did he miss that?
Thoi Singh does really well to make space for himself. He beats Rafael Lopez Gomez and gets to the byline on the right and puts a low cross which finds Lallianzuala Chhangte at the far post. Chhangte has a clear goal to head it in. He dives but somehow manages to miss the target. These missed chances can hurt them later on. The home fans' wait for their first goal of the season continues.
22'
Kamaljit Singh the saviour!

Battle of the Basement Clubs!
Today's match sees bottom-placed Chennaiyin FC play host to Hyderabad FC who are sitting just above them in the points table. The Marina Machans are still to score a goal this season and their muted attack has been the prime reason for their plight in this edition of the ISL. Their coach, John Gregory, has said that he had a chat with the owners and winning the next two fixtures is of the utmost importance for them to instil some life to their dormant season. Much will be expected from the dynamic Indian duo, Anirudh Thapa and Lallianzuala Chhangte, to inspire the two-time champions to record their first win of the season. Hyderabad FC, on the other hand, have conceded a goal in each of their outings this season. The newcomers are guilty of being the leakiest defence, having conceded 10 goals in 4 games so far. Up against a goal-shy opponent, they would also be aiming to get their act together and achieve their first clean sheet of this edition. Marko Stankovic and Marcelo Pereira have been the standout performers for Hyderabad FC, with the latter scoring 2 of the 3 goals the visitors have scored so far. Head coach, Phil Brown, will expect the rest of the strike force of Abhishek Halder, Bobo, Giles Barnes and Robin Singh to share the goal-scoring burden. Will Chennaiyin end their goal drought and bring their campaign on track or will the visitors pick up a rare win to move up in the table? Lots to play for in this battle of the basement clubs!
