The drought is over
After a tactical first half, the second one began in similar fashion and both sides were cautious in their approach. The game though gathered momentum after the 50-minute mark. CK Vineeth drew first blood when Anirudh Thapa's blocked shot in the 55th minute fell kindly to Vineeth who opened the scoring. The home side's lead didn't last long as 4 minutes later Marcelo Pereira equalised. In the next minute, Marcelo was again in action as he slotted home a through ball from Marko Stankovic wide of the keeper. Chennaiyin FC did try to equalise but didn't have too many chances. The closest they came to equalising was in the 82nd minute when Gregory Nelson's blocked shot went out off the post. With this win, FC Pune City have finally won a game against Chennaiyin FC. It took them 10 games but it was a much-needed victory which keeps their hopes alive in the tournament. Chennaiyin FC's struggle continues this season as they remain at the foot of the table.

Second half
We are back for the start of the second half. The home side gets us underway this time.
Watchful half
It was a very tactical half here in Chennai. The best chance of the game came in the 1st minute to Robin Singh but he could not make the most of it. It was a battle in the midfield and both teams were cautious in their approach. The killer instinct in the final third was missing from both sides. This scoreline is not good enough for the visitors who are here looking for all three points. Both teams will have a talk about it in the half time and will look to come in the second half with an attacking mindset. Join us in a bit for more action.

FC Pune City's fight to stay alive
Hello and welcome to match 67 of this edition's Indian Super League. Depleted and defending champions Chennaiyin FC host Pune City FC. It has been a forgettable season for the hosts. They are last in the league table and have struggled to get 3 points so far. They have won only once so far and have no chance to qualify for the semi-finals. Chennaiyin FC have signed versatile defender Christopher Herd to replace Inigo Calderon. The Southerners will like to win the remaining matches, be the party poopers for others and end the season on a high. Coming to the visitors, they are 7th in the league table, 12 points adrift of 4th placed NorthEast United FC. But the Stallions have 2 games lesser than them. This is a crucial game for them as a loss here will make it very difficult for them to qualify for the semis. They have a new coach at the helm in Phil Brown and would want to start his tenure on a high. Pune City FC have faced the boys from Chennai 9 times and are yet to win. They have lost seven and drawn twice. Two teams playing for different ambitions and both hungry to win. This promises to be a cracking contest. Let's see who comes out on top.
