ATK hold their nerves to bag all three points
What a thriller we have witnessed here in Chennai and it is ATK who have come out with all three points. They entered the second half with the lead and have managed to end the game like that. The second 45 was not as lively as the first but it was still an entertaining one. The hosts tried their level best in pursuit of the equalizer but were unable to create any clear chances. It was ATK who doubled their lead through Manuel Lanzarote who once again scored from the spot in the 80th minute. There was drama towards the end as Chennaiyin FC pulled one back through Isaac Vanmalsawma, but the visitors held their nerve and came out victorious. With this win now, ATK move to 5th on the table, level on points with Jamshedpur FC but behind on goal difference. Chennaiyin FC's title defense looks in a lot of trouble after tonight's loss.

What an exciting half of football it was. Both teams had chances to open the scoring and it was ATK who drew first blood in the 14th minute with a brilliantly hit shot 30-35 yards away from goal by Jayesh Rane. But 10 minutes later it was, Thoi Singh who was on the scoresheet with a perfectly hit first time shot on the bottom left corner to make it 1-1. It looked like we would go in at half time with the scores level but there was a twist in the tale as the referee pointed to the spot just before the end of the half when Hitesh Sharma's shot struck the hand of Eli Sabia. The resulting penalty was coolly slotted away by Lanzarote to give ATK the lead. This game is not over by any means. Can ATK add to their lead or will Chennaiyin FC equalise again and maybe even take the lead themselves? It will be a tense second half.

But it has been flagged offside. A ball is chipped into the box by Manuel Lanzarote from the right. It falls on the head of Balwant Singh who tries to head it towards the far corner but it is off target. It is a very important match for both the teams as they both find themselves at the bottom half of the league table.
