Adios!
Bengaluru FC beat Jamshedpur FC 2-0 with ease. The Blues can now enjoy an eight days break. However, matches come thick and fast in the ISL. Friday, 10th January 2020, sees a basement slugfest as Hyderabad FC play host to Chennaiyin FC. Until then, cheers!
Awards!
Bengaluru FC collect the Club Award for winning the match this evening. Erik Paartalu is given the Limitless Player of the Match Award and also bags the Winning Pass of the Match Award. Ashique Kuruniyan takes home the Emerging Player of the Match Award as well as the choice for the Hero of the Match Award.
A deserved victory!
Bengaluru FC win 2-0 and climb to second place. After Erik Paartalu put the hosts ahead in the 8th minute, Bengaluru FC performed like champions to stifle the visitors. The Miners began the half with further changes in personnel, they managed to fashion chances here and there. However, if the first half was about the outfielders giving Jamshedpur FC a masterclass, the second half was all about Gurpreet Singh Sandhu showing his class to all the shots on goal that the Men of Steel had. All in all, Bengaluru FC stomped their way to second place. Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, looked laboured in possession and bereft of ideas. They stay in 6th place and going by their performance they have a tall order in front of them to make it to the top four.

Will the Champions hold their own?
The 55th match of the ISL sees current champions, Bengaluru FC take on Jamshedpur FC, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. The Blues and the Miners have only one thing in common this season, both teams have managed to beat table toppers, FC Goa. Else, it has been a season of contrasting fortunes for these two clubs, while Bengaluru FC are firmly nestled in the top four, Jamshedpur FC have fallen to 6th place in the table. From their first five matches, the Men of Steel won three, lost one and drew the other and scored 10 points from 5 games. Thereafter, they have gone through a winless run of five matches, scoring only three points in the process. The poor results have coincided with the loss of forward, Sergio Castel, the Spaniard has been injured since 2nd December. The visitors have addressed this problem by signing another Spanish forward, David Grande and Indian striker, Gourav Mukhi, to lead the line. Head coach, Antonio Iriondo also highlighted that the absence of the creative midfielder, Piti has also hurt the Miners. However, he stated that Noe Acosta could start. The Blues, on the other hand, have only lost two games of their 11 in the campaign so far. Sunil Chhetri bagged a brace in their most recent victory against FC Goa. Chhetri is also the leading scorer for the hosts, with seven goals. They are the best defensive unit in the division conceding only 7 goals so far. Their defenders, Albert Serran, Juanan, Harmanjot Khabra, Nishu Kumar along with Erik Paartalu and Rahul Bheke have been a class apart in this edition of the ISL. A win for Bengaluru FC will take them to 2nd spot, while a draw will keep them in third. However, a win for the Men of Steel will lift them to the fourth spot. Will the visitors finally earn a win? Find out today, at 1930 IST.
