Awards!
The Club Award goes to EBFC for winning the game. The Hero of the Match Award goes to Cleiton Silva for his only goal in the game.
EBFC bag the three points!
That is a superb defensive display from EBFC and it is a well-deserved win for them! They did not create a lot of chances in the second half but managed to take the one they did. BFC on the other hand, will be disappointed with how they performed. They started off the second half better. Roy Krishna had a golden chance but he could not take it as he failed to hit the target. That missed chance proved to be costly as moments later Cleiton Silva managed to find the back of the net courtesy a defensive error. Later on, EBFC's defense was very solid and they did really well to hold onto their lead to bag all three points.

GOALLLL!!!
It is EBFC who have taken the lead! Cleiton Silva gets the easiest of chances and he finishes! That is weak defending. The corner is cleared out. A defender runs with it towards his goal but his pass back to the keeper is a weak one. It is collected by Naorem Singh. He is through on goal and has Cleiton Silva to his right. He lays it off for him. It is an easy finish and he slots it home.

Vital defending!
Bruno Silva is set through on the left. He has Roy Krishna in the middle of the box and unmarked! He looks to cross it in but Ivan Gonzalez does well to intercept and hit it out for a corner. Nothing from it though.

Poor cross!

46'
Second essay!
It is time for the second half to begin! It is BFC who get us underway!
All level at the break!
Quite a dull half to be honest! Both the sides struggled to create chances! BFC were quite poor, they just were a little too sloppy. EBFC on the other hand, were a lot sharper, the best chance of the game fell to the game which Cleiton Silva could not covert. It has been a good defensive display from both the sides but with the quality BFC have ahead, you expect them to do better in the second and find the back of the net. However, if the teams continue to play like this, EBFC might just fancy themselves to get something out of this game.
45'
Half time!
The ref blows the whistle and that ends the first half!
45'
Added time!
Just a minute added to the first half then!
43'
Brilliant tackle!
That is outstanding defending from Sandesh Jhingan! Cleiton Silva is set through and he goes in front of Sandesh Jhingan. The former's touch though slows him down a touch and that allows Sandesh Jhingan to put in the tackle and it is a perfect one as he clears the danger.
43'
Foul!
BFC look to hit on the counter! Roy Krishna goes past Jerry Lalrinzuala but is pulled back. The ref blows the whistle and it is a free kick.
37'
Half time approaching!
We are nearing the end of the first half! Will it remain stalemate or will we see a side take the lead?
33'
Straight at the keeper!
The corner is hit towards the far post. It beats the defender there and it is Cleiton Silva who heads it towards goal but the keeper saves it well.

The game is evenly poised so far with both the teams holding 50% of the possession in the game. It will be interesting to see which team scores the first goal.
13'
Close!
This was the best chance so far in the game. Javier Hernandez gets the ball in the middle. He carries it well and puts a through ball to Sunil Chhetri in the box. EBFC defender reads it well and cuts it out. Sunil Chhetri wants a corner of it but the referee points for a goal kick.
10'

Both the teams are trying hard to get a breakthrough in the game. Charis Kyriakou gets a deflected ball in the middle. It is way far from the goal. However he makes an attempt on target but the keeper reads it well.

A fierce rivalry!
Bengaluru FC has just scored only two goals from their opening four games of the season. They will need to bounce back and it was a perfect time as there was an extended break this time. Their coach, Simon Grayson said that the extended break came at the perfect time as they were struggling with injuries, and the interval allowed quite a few players to recuperate. On the other hand, East Bengal FC has lost four out of the five games played. In their recent encounter against Chennaiyin FC, they lost 1-0. They would be hoping for Cleiton Silva to score a goal and win this game on the enemy's turf.
