Adios!
Right then, that is it from this game. The footballing action continues as Chennaiyin FC takes on Mumbai City FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai on Saturday, 12 November. The game begins at 19:30 IST. Till then, goodbye and take care!
Awards!
The Club Award goes to EBFC for winning the game. The Hero of the Match Award goes to Cleiton Silva for his only goal in the game.
EBFC bag the three points!
That is a superb defensive display from EBFC and it is a well-deserved win for them! They did not create a lot of chances in the second half but managed to take the one they did. BFC on the other hand, will be disappointed with how they performed. They started off the second half better. Roy Krishna had a golden chance but he could not take it as he failed to hit the target. That missed chance proved to be costly as moments later Cleiton Silva managed to find the back of the net courtesy a defensive error. Later on, EBFC's defense was very solid and they did really well to hold onto their lead to bag all three points.
90'
Full time!
Peep, peep, peep, there goes the final whistle and that is the end of the game. It ends BFC 0-1 EBFC!
90'
Added time!
Six minutes have been added to the 90 then. Enough time for another goal. The question is, who will score it?
89'
What a tackle!
A long ball goes past everyone and finds Roy Krishna! He takes a touch but the ball ends up behind him. Ivan Gonzalez dives in and kicks the ball out for a throw-in. Brilliant tackle.

Good try!
Had Sunil Chhetri got that under control, it would have been brilliant. Gurpreet Sandhu clears the ball and hits it as far as the box of the opponent. Sunil Chhetri looks to control it but the touch is heavy and the keeper collects it.
78'
Easy save!
Cleiton Silva gets the ball outside the box. He has a lot of space and takes a strike but it is too close to the keeper.

Over!
Cleiton Silva looked to be cheeky! A clearance sets him through on goal. He looks to chip the keeper from a little too far out but hits it over.
69'
GOALLLL!!!
It is EBFC who have taken the lead! Cleiton Silva gets the easiest of chances and he finishes! That is weak defending. The corner is cleared out. A defender runs with it towards his goal but his pass back to the keeper is a weak one. It is collected by Naorem Singh. He is through on goal and has Cleiton Silva to his right. He lays it off for him. It is an easy finish and he slots it home.

Over!
Cleiton Silva takes a shot from some way out but he ends up hitting it well over the goal.
62'
Big chance!
Roy Krishna should have hit the target at least! That is the best chance of the game. He is set through on goal. He is one on one with the keeper on the right and looks to hit it hard but ends up hitting it wide.
60'
Midfield battle!
Yet again the two teams are struggling to break the defenses of either side. The ball is being passed well in the midfield but the final pass is missing.
55'
Injury!
Jordan O'Doherty is down on the ground! He indicates he can't continue anymore and has to come off and he does. Alex Lima comes in place of him.

Vital defending!
Bruno Silva is set through on the left. He has Roy Krishna in the middle of the box and unmarked! He looks to cross it in but Ivan Gonzalez does well to intercept and hit it out for a corner. Nothing from it though.
48'
Poor cross!
BFC break on the counter! Roy Krishna sets Namgyal Bhutia through on the right, he takes it towards the byline and then crosses it but it is straight at the keeper.
46'
Second essay!
It is time for the second half to begin! It is BFC who get us underway!
All level at the break!
Quite a dull half to be honest! Both the sides struggled to create chances! BFC were quite poor, they just were a little too sloppy. EBFC on the other hand, were a lot sharper, the best chance of the game fell to the game which Cleiton Silva could not covert. It has been a good defensive display from both the sides but with the quality BFC have ahead, you expect them to do better in the second and find the back of the net. However, if the teams continue to play like this, EBFC might just fancy themselves to get something out of this game.
45'
Half time!
The ref blows the whistle and that ends the first half!
45'
Added time!
Just a minute added to the first half then!
43'
Brilliant tackle!
That is outstanding defending from Sandesh Jhingan! Cleiton Silva is set through and he goes in front of Sandesh Jhingan. The former's touch though slows him down a touch and that allows Sandesh Jhingan to put in the tackle and it is a perfect one as he clears the danger.
43'
Foul!
BFC look to hit on the counter! Roy Krishna goes past Jerry Lalrinzuala but is pulled back. The ref blows the whistle and it is a free kick.
37'
Half time approaching!
We are nearing the end of the first half! Will it remain stalemate or will we see a side take the lead?
33'
Straight at the keeper!
The corner is hit towards the far post. It beats the defender there and it is Cleiton Silva who heads it towards goal but the keeper saves it well.
27'
First booking of the game!
Suhair Vadakkepeedika makes a nasty foul on the BFC player and he is been shown a yellow card.

26'
Shout for a penalty!
Cleiton Silva runs from the right flank and comes into the box. He puts a cross in the box but Sandesh Jhingan puts his body on the line. EBFC players shout for a penalty but the referee shows no interest.
22'
Chance for BFC!
Ivan Gonzalez makes a foul on Udanta Singh near the edge of the box and BFC have been awarded a free kick. BFC have a discussion and Javier Hernandez takes the free kick. He makes a direct attempt but it is just off target.
17'
Evenly poised so far!
The game is evenly poised so far with both the teams holding 50% of the possession in the game. It will be interesting to see which team scores the first goal.
13'
Close!
This was the best chance so far in the game. Javier Hernandez gets the ball in the middle. He carries it well and puts a through ball to Sunil Chhetri in the box. EBFC defender reads it well and cuts it out. Sunil Chhetri wants a corner of it but the referee points for a goal kick.
10'
Excellent attempt!
Both the teams are trying hard to get a breakthrough in the game. Charis Kyriakou gets a deflected ball in the middle. It is way far from the goal. However he makes an attempt on target but the keeper reads it well.
9'
Early corner
BFC get a early corner in the game. Javier Hernandez puts the ball in the box but EBFC defenders are spot-on with their defense and they clear it well.
7'
Off target!
BFC are heading forward now. BFC player tries to dribble but EBFC defender cuts him out. Sunil Chhetri in the middle gets a volley who attempts with his right foot but it goes wide of the left post.
5'
Early attack!
EBFC are on a early attack here. Jerry Lalrinzuala gets the ball on the left flank and he puts a great cross in the box. Gurpreet Sandhu reads it well and holds onto the ball comfortably.
Let's Football
It's time to get going. Both the teams have opted for a 4-4-2 formation. Let's Football.
Toss
The coin flip lands in the favor of BFC. They will attack from right to left in the first half.
National Anthem
We are minutes away from the start. Both the teams walk out of the tunnel and line up for the Indian national anthem.
East Bengal FC (Starting XI)
Kamaljit Singh (GK), Ivan Gonzalez, Lalchungnunga, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Ankit Mukherjee, Charis Kyriakou, Jordan O'Doherty, Naorem Singh, Thongkhosiem Haokip, Cleiton Silva (C), Suhair Vadakkepeedika.

A fierce rivalry!
Bengaluru FC has just scored only two goals from their opening four games of the season. They will need to bounce back and it was a perfect time as there was an extended break this time. Their coach, Simon Grayson said that the extended break came at the perfect time as they were struggling with injuries, and the interval allowed quite a few players to recuperate. On the other hand, East Bengal FC has lost four out of the five games played. In their recent encounter against Chennaiyin FC, they lost 1-0. They would be hoping for Cleiton Silva to score a goal and win this game on the enemy's turf.
Matchweek 6
