Jonty Rhodes, whose dexterity on the cricket field continues to amaze fans across the world, turned 47 on Wednesday. A familiar face in Indian cricket due to his links in the Indian Premier League, Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan led a slew of birthday messages for the South African.
Sehwag, who scored a century at Goodyear Park in Bloemfontein in November 2001, has remembered the fielding superman by calling him Chidiya Ud (Flying bird) and an Udan Khatola (Flying object).
Dhawan, who is getting ready for the Jamaica Test against West Indies from Saturday, also wished Jonty with a lovely photograph.
Jonty's youngest daughter was born in Mumbai in April 2015. Known for his fondness for Indian spirituality, Jonty named her 'India Jeanne Rhodes'.
Jonty is the fielding coach if two-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. He continues to inspire cricketers with his amazing fitness and fielding drills.
His dismissal of Inzamam-ul-Haq during the 1992 World Cup remains one of most iconic moments of international cricket.
No wonder, Mohammed Kaif, one of India's finest fielders, has called Jonty his fielding guru.
