Pune Pitch Was Challenging, Not Poor: Murali Vijay

India opener Murali Vijay on Wednesday came out in support of the controversial Pune pitch on which India lost the first Test by a humiliating 333 runs to Australia. The Test match ended in two-and-a-half days after which the International Cricket Council rated it as "poor", asking the Board of Control for Cricket in India to reply in response. "As cricketers, we need to play on such wickets sometimes rather than playing on flat tracks. It is a good thing to play on wickets which test your character and technique," Vijay said.
