Sunil Narine has spun back to the new-look West Indies ODI and T20I squads for the series against Sri Lanka in October. The mystery off-spinner, who now has a 'clean' action, was out of international action since August 2014.
Narine, 27, did not play the World Cup earlier this year due to questions raised about his bowling action during the Champions League T20. He worked to remodel his action though he was once again in trouble during the 2015 edition of the Indian Premier League. He received a final warning on that occasion.
According to reports, West Indies selectors have made as many as eight changes in the World Cup squad. Chris Gayle is out of action after a back surgery. The likes of Darren Sammy, Lendl Simmons, Sulieman Benn, Sheldon Cottrell, Nikita Miller, Kemar Roach, and Dwayne Smith are also not part of the current ODI squad.
Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard yet again failed to make the cut for the ODIs, but found their respective places for the T20Is. Dwayne Smith and Lendl Simmons were missing from the T20I squad though they did play in West Indies' previous T20 games in South Africa ahead of the World Cup.
Pacer Ravi Rampaul is also back after failing to make the cut for the World Cup. Four fresh faces in the T20I squad were Samuel Badree, Jerome Taylor, Jonathan Carter and Johnson Charles.
West Indies will also have a new interim coach after head coach Phil Simmons was suspended on Monday for his comments on team selection. Former quickie and selector Eldine Baptiste will be in-charge in Sri Lanka while Simmons answers "breaches of confidentiality" to the West Indies Cricket Board.
The limited overs series on the Sri Lanka tour starts with the first ODI on November 1.
