SLC executive committee issued a statement, saying the national team management was of the opinion that a day-night Test was difficult since the team had not practised under light while using a pink ball.
The PCB felt that the prospect of a day night Test would attract a large audience to the match given the large expatriate communities in the locations from both Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Pakistan was keen to become first nation to play a day and night Test match when it hosts Sri Lanka for a full series later this year in the United Arab Emirates.
It had proposed to play one of the three Tests in the series scheduled in December-January under lights either in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Dubai.
