Lahore:
Former pacer Sarfaraz Nawaz has filed a defamation case in a lower court seeking damages of 100 million rupees from Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt.
Sarfaraz said he filed the case because Butt had accused him of demanding 2.9 million rupees for doing a coaching job in a national camp for fast bowlers.
"It was a wrong allegation and I never asked for any compensation or fees that is why I have gone to court," Sarfaraz said.
"I have filed a case in Additional District and Session Court Islamabad and it has summoned Butt on May 6," he said.
The outspoken and controversial pace bowler has been a staunch critic of the board and the way Butt has run cricket affairs.
