Ashley Allan Noffke Profile
Ashley Noffke or ‘Noffers’ as he is popularly known as, made his first-class debut in 1998-99, and has been one of the better Australian bowlers, waiting for his chance since the 2000-01 Ashes tour where he was picked. He did not play in any Test match because of an injury in a tour game, but continued to impress at the first-class level.
It was in the 2007-08 season that Noffke managed to capture 50 wickets and score 500 runs to go with it, making him only the third Aussie to do so, and he was back in the selectors' radar. He made his T20 debut against the touring New Zealand side, and though he got out without facing a ball, he managed to pick up three wickets for 18 runs in his spell. Later, he also made his ODI debut against India at Brisbane. Decent performances in first-class cricket were rewarded when he was chosen to tour the West Indies with the Test team in the 2008 Sir Frank Worrell Trophy.
Noffke was also part of the franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008.
