Grew up in Otago, New Zealand, where he represented his country at U/19 level. Played state cricket at Auckland, Otago and Wellington. Member of the Canada side at the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2003 and 2007. Hit a vital 42 in Canada’s famous win over Bangladesh at 2003 event. Prior to this event, his highest ODI score is 93 against Bangladesh in 1997, having made four fifties in total.
