He showcased his cricketing prowess by making his first-class debut for Speen Ghar Region during the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament on April 15, 2018. Continuing his promising journey, he marked his List A debut for the same team in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament on July 25, 2018. In December 2019, Ishaq's talents earned him a spot in Afghanistan's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He further solidified his presence on the international stage by representing Afghanistan in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in the West Indies. Ishaq's transition to senior cricket saw him make his T20 debut against Sri Lanka at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on February 21, 2024.
