Ramith Rambukwella, a former Sri Lankan international cricketer, was arrested by an anti-graft commission on Wednesday in connection with a corruption case linked to his politician father.
The batsman was seen by other passengers pushing and pulling the door on the plane while apparently searching for the toilet, about two hours out of London's Gatwick airport, according to British media reports.
Team manager Jayantha Seneviratne had claimed that Rambukwella, whose father is a government minister, was not able to find the toilet door as the lights had been dimmed.
