Cameron Borgas Profile

Cameron Borgas made his first-class debut for South Australia in 2000-01, but had to wait for four more years to get another opportunity. When granted, Borgas replied with his maiden first-class fifty against Tasmania and followed it up with two back-to-back centuries in 2005-06. A former Under 19 batsman, he was first chosen to play for his state at the tender age of 17.

“Borgy” as he is nicknamed, could not carry his superb form into the summer that followed, but recovered quickly from loss of form and a shoulder injury in 2008-09. He was relatively unsuccessful in Australia's limited-overs domain, struggling to get back to scoring ways. Borgas' career graph continued to be a pattern of highs, followed by the lows. Though, 504 first-class runs at a staggering average of 42 that included an FR Cup haul of 339 runs, rebuilt his confidence.

However, it was in the 2010-11 Big Bash tournament that Borgas really flourished, when he walked into the finals, playing just three games in the competition; and together with Daniel Harris, hit the winning runs for South Australia, which was highlighted by his two sixes off an over.
