A young all-rounder who plays for the Bihar state team, Shivam Singh made news for scoring a swashbuckling inning of 210 runs in 71 balls in a T20 game for a club in Delhi in their local club-level tournament. Born on 18th November 1996 in Kaimur situated in the northern state of Bihar in India, Shivam became known for his aggressive strokeplay and handy right-arm off break. His talent was finally recognized when he was allowed to make his first-class debut for Bihar against Arunachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy early in 2022.
His big break arrived when he was picked by the Punjab franchise late in 2022 during the auction for the 2023 Indian T20 League at his base price. He celebrated his inclusion into the big league by scoring his maiden domestic century against Mizoram at the start of 2023. He displayed great patience and good technical ability as he scored 110 runs in 323 deliveries to ensure that he was not branded purely as a limited-overs cricketer. Unfortunately, he could not get any games in the 2023 Indian T20 League. Singh continued to train hard and honed his skills which paid off for him. In the Tamil Nadu T20 League 2023, he was the third most expensive buy in the auction and was instrumental for Dindigul on their way to the playoffs scoring 356 runs in 9 matches. His performances made Punjab retain him for the 2024 season while he also made his first-class debut early in 2024. He will have a great opportunity to learn with some of the top players in world cricket and if he works hard, we may see yet another talent emerge out of the Indian T20 League.
