Muhammad Ghazi Ghori Profile

Muhammad Ghazi Ghori is a highly talented young wicketkeeper-batter from Karachi, widely regarded as a key part of the next generation of Pakistan's white-ball cricket. Ghori represents a classical approach to wicketkeeper-batting. Unlike many modern aggressive stroke-makers who rely purely on hitting, he is noted for his secure defensive technique, soft hands, and excellent ability to rotate strike against spin. These traits make him uniquely suited for grinding out tough assignments in sub-continental conditions.

Ghori's rapid rise through the domestic ranks began with the Pakistan Under-19 team and culminated in a breakout period across the 2024-25 and 2025-26 domestic cycles. Representing teams like the Karachi Whites, the Higher Education Commission, and the State Bank of Pakistan, he put together a string of exceptional multi-day performances. His first-class credentials feature standout centuries under pressure, including a resilient 138 against Ghani Glass and a magnificent unbeaten 128 against WAPDA. This red-ball success, combined with two appearances for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League, was enough to catch the eye of the national selectors.

His reward came in March 2026, when Pakistan entered a transitional phase in their white-ball setup. He received his first senior international call-up for the white-ball tour of Bangladesh, designated as a backup to veteran keeper Mohammad Rizwan and widely seen as his long-term successor. The promise shown in his maiden ODI series against Bangladesh saw him retain his place in the squad when Australia came visiting later in the year.
