A right-handed top-order batsman hailing from Punjab, Sunny Sohal made his first-class debut in the year 2005 against Hyderabad. In 14 first-class matches up to June 2009, he had scored 931 runs at 42.31 with three centuries. He represented India U-19 and was also a part of Kings XI Punjab for the first few seasons of the IPL, where he scored 119 runs in 10 innings. He was later signed by the Deccan Chargers in 2011.
