Hasan Murad Profile

Born on July 1, 2001, in Cox's Bazar, Hasan Murad is a left-arm orthodox spinner who made a name for himself in Bangladesh’s domestic cricket. He made his List A debut for BKSP in 2019 and his first-class debut for Chittagong Division in 2021. A consistent performer in the red-ball format, Murad has picked up over 130 wickets in first-class cricket in 30 odd games, including multiple five-wicket hauls and a best of 8/119. His performances have been instrumental in domestic tournaments, and he has also turned out for teams like Minister Group Dhaka, Rangpur Riders, and Khulna Tigers. He was the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League tournament, with 22 wickets in 13 matches.

He made his T20I debut during the 2023 Asian Games, featuring against India and Pakistan. While his opportunities at the international level have been limited so far, Murad was named as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan in Bangladesh’s Test squad for the 2024 series against South Africa - an indication of the trust placed in him by the selectors. With his ability to bowl long spells and pick wickets consistently, he remains one of the brightest spin prospects in Bangladesh.
