Naumanullah Profile

Naumanullah is one of those late bloomers, who got their first opportunity to play international cricket at a very late age of thirty three. And that was in 2008 against the touring Bangladeshis. This was after he was named in the team for the four day match against a Zimbabwean team. He scored a fifty in this one and soon made his debut against Bangladesh. In his debut match, he batted at number eight and scored only five runs.

However, it was his first class record as a batsman that ahs made everyone sit up and take notice in the Pakistan cricket. He made his first class debut in the 1995-96 season, but it took him a couple of seasons before he shifted to the REDCO Pakistan Limited team, and here is where he started to amass runs by the buckets. He has scored more than 6600 first class and 3300 List A runs, and was awarded the best batsman of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2007-08 for his 949 runs in 10 matches at an average of 63.26 with 4 centuries and 3 fifties. Unfortunately, with so many youngsters coming in, one only hopes that Naumanullah gets to play more than just the one ODI he has played.
