Brett Lee had taken part in the IIFA awards at Singapore in 2004 where he was warmly received by the Indian film fraternity. He had presented an award to Preity Zinta. Little did he know that few years down the line he would be playing for her team in the IPL.

His manager had once confessed, "Oh, Brett loves anything to do with India. He just needs a reason to visit". True it is!

Brett Lee, who is known to be a guitarist in his band Six & Out, had recorded a duet "You're The One For Me" with Indian legend Asha Bhosle a few years back.

A couple of years back, he also featured on a famous talk show 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal'.

Last year Brett Lee acted in a movie 'Victory' featuring Harman Baweja. A movie based on cricket, Lee played himself alongside other cricketers like Mike Hussey, Allan Border and Jason Gillespie.

Brett Lee has declared his love for Indian food, especially Butter Chicken. Lee once said, "The day I train hard, I work my butt off, put in effort and the match goes well... then I reward myself. A couple of quarts of beer, and Butter Chicken".

His love for Indian food goes much further. Lee, who owns coffee shop called 'Fusions Café & Book Shop', also owns a restaurant which specialises in Indian cuisine.

In October 2009, Brett Lee walked the ramp for Sanjana Jon in the Mumbai Fashion Week promoting 'Save the Girl Child' campaign.

During the same event, Lee also signed a deal with Pearls Broadcasting Corporation as their brand ambassador for their News channel.

Lee has also signed a few endorsements with Indian companies. His association with Timex Watches goes a long way back. He has also endorsed Rock Energy Drink and Pharmacare India that produces bioglan vitamin products.

Interestingly, he had made his Test debut against India in 1999 at Melbourne in which he picked seven wickets, five of which came in the first innings. Sadagoppan Ramesh was his first Test victim.

Lee took 310 wickets in 76 Tests since making his debut in 1999, making him Australia's fourth most successful Test bowler behind Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Dennis Lillee. He played his last Test against South Africa in December 2008.

Haunted by a number of injuries throughout his career, Brett Lee made quite a many successful comebacks. But this time around, he finally called it a day in Tests to give his ODI and T20 career a boost.

During his illustrious career, Lee was awarded with many awards. Some of them are - The Donald Bradman Young Player of the Year 2000, Wisden Young Cricketer of the Year 1999-00, Wisden Cricketer Award in 2006 and ICC Test Player of the Year in 2008.
