As Pakistan prepared to host their first international cricket match against Zimbabwe in six years, an ugly controversy reared its head in Lahore, where the two T20 Internationals are to be held. Around 600 tickets, worth Rs 1500 each were stolen from the Pakistan Cricket Board headquarters, according to reports.
The PCB lodged a First Information Report (FIR) and the police arrested a person named Azam selling tickets in black from the Gulberg area of Lahore, Pakistani media reported on Friday.
Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe in the first T20I on Friday at the Gadaffi Stadium.
No Test-playing country has visited Pakistan since militants attacked the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore six years ago, killing eight people and injuring seven players.
Zimbabwe agreed to the tour, which also includes three one-day internationals, only after being promised a level of security usually reserved for heads of state, involving 6,000 policemen and paramilitary troops and helicopters buzzing overheard.
