Right then, that is it from the 2nd T20I where West Indies have sealed the series and will look for a whitewash now while South Africa will want to stop that. The focus now shifts to the third and final game which will start on 27th May, Monday at 12.30 am IST (7 pm GMT, Previous Day), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to the match. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Brandon King, the victorious skipper of West Indies says that it is a great feeling to win the series at home. On being asked about Roston Chase's all-round performance, he says it's a luxury to have a player like him who can contribute with both bat and ball and that he took the responsibility and batted well staying unbeaten. Says they didn't have a good start in the Powerplay but after that, they hit the right areas with the ball. Adds that the bowlers bowled with clarity and appreciates Gudakesh Motie for the way he has bowled in this series. Tells that the side is in good momentum and they are aiming to carry forward this momentum in the T20 World Cup too.
Rassie van der Dussen, the captain of South Africa says that he is not happy with the bowling performance as they conceded 15-20 runs extra. Adds that their pacers did not have any answers but the spinners did very well. Praises debutant Nqabayomzi Peter for his effort and says it did not look like he was playing his first game, and Bjorn Fortuin was also excellent. Mentions that it is disappointing to lose the series but they still have one more game and will look to bounce back in the next one.
Roston Chase is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his unbeaten 67 with the bat in the first innings. He says he was ready for this opportunity and conditioned his mind to play any role. Adds that the plan was to take it to the deep and also says that the wicket was better than the first T20I. On being asked about his bowling performances, he says that you have to be always ready to bowl the tough overs. Ends up by saying he is quite happy with the performance.
Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game, West Indies posted a big total on the board courtesy of a fine half-century from Roston Chase along with good cameos from Brandon King, Andre Fletcher, and Romario Shepherd. The debutant, Nqabayomzi Peter was the pick of the bowlers with a couple of wickets. Lungi Ngidi and Andile Phehlukwayo also picked up two wickets each but were expensive while Bjorn Fortuin got one but was very economical. While chasing, South Africa came out all guns blazing and it was looking like they would get over the line, but after the openers departed, they could not really take the pressure and had to face another defeat.
West Indies, on the other hand, were taken apart by the Proteas openers in the Powerplay but they did make a small comeback with Akeal Hosein and Roston Chase getting rid of both in consecutive overs. The spinners were good in the middle overs as well and managed to check the runs. That put a lot of pressure on the South African middle order and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals which meant they were always behind the game. Romario Shepherd was excellent as well bowling in the death overs and giving nothing away. Gudakesh Motie once again was the key bowler for them with three crucial wickets while the other spinners also contributed well and Shephard closing things off nicely.
South Africa got off to an absolute flier with Quinton de Kock being his old self again and smashing it all around the park while Reeza Hendricks also continued his good touch. The duo maximized the use of the Powerplay and added 81 runs together before perishing in quick succession and not being able to convert their starts. They had to rebuild again and it was Matthew Breetzke and Ryan Rickelton who took things forward nicely but once again they lost them both one after the other just as when they were looking in control. However, their middle order couldn't make much impact except for skipper Rassie van der Dussen who looked good and played a  few lusty blows before getting dismissed on a full toss which probably was the turning point of this game. Bjorn Fortuin and Nqabayomzi Peter tried their best but that was never going to be enough as they fell short by 16 runs in the end.
WEST INDIES SEAL THE SERIES! They have done that with another clinical performance and with one game to spare as well. The Windies were under a bit of pressure but they fought back excellently and took the victory. South Africa will be a bit disappointed as they got off to a great start in this chase but their middle order failed them once again in this series.

Done and dusted. West Indies seal the series by 2-0 in a convincing manner and win their second T20I series against the Proteas. A low full toss at the off stump, Nqabayomzi Peter creates room and works it to the widish long on for a couple.

A valiant effort from Alick Athanaze but it was a very tough chance there. Slower through the air, outside off and fuller in length, Nqabayomzi Peter skips down the track and goes for a biggie, but he's a bit early on the shot and takes the leading edge of the willow that lands somewhere around  the point region.
