That's it from us today. An all round performance is what England wanted and they did produce it. Now the action shifts to Barbados on Thursday (9th March 2017, 0930 local and 1330 GMT). Eoin Morgan has declared his intentions and is eyeing an whitewash. It would be interesting to see if West Indies are able to stop that ruthlessness. Join us for all the action. Till then, goodbye and take care!
England captain, Eoin Morgan is not entirely happy with the win but says that the bowlers did an outstanding job. Mentions that Roy was terrific at the top as he set up the game. Informs that losing three or four wickets in the middle was a bit concerning but England did well to recover. Says that getting oneself in was very necessary to score. Praises Root and Woakes for playing an outstanding innings, mentions the Sri Lanka game (where Woakes shared a good stand with Buttler) last year. Thinks that everyone chipped in and calls that a sign of a great team. Opines that they would like to be ruthless (in the last ODI) and aim for a whitewash.
MAN OF THE MATCH, JOE ROOT, says that he enjoyed this innings very much. Adds that he observed that new batsmen were struggling on the pitch and he just took it ball by ball. Also says that he wanted to stay calm. On being asked what advice he gave to Woakes, he casually says that he asked Woakes to give himself a chance and spend some time in the middle. Feels that England bat all the way down to number 11 and hence there was no need to panic.
West Indian skipper JASON HOLDER is disappointed having come so close but is proud of the effort. Rues the missed chances and a poor batting display. Wants his batsmen to spend some time in the middle. Also admits that they have not been able to grab the opportunities. On Gabriel's injury, he agrees that it is becoming an issue with him getting regularly injured and they will assess his fitness before the third ODI.
The hosts were far too sloppy in the field and if there is one area they would immediately want to improve, it is this. They say catches win you matches, but the way West Indies played today didn't look like they believe in it! With the series clinched, the tourists would now look to try out more combinations in the third ODI. Stay put for the presentation...
But Joe Root and Chris Woakes clubbed together a stand of 102 to guide England to a 4-wicket win. Root had a clear plan of staying till the end and he was absolutely delighted after he played the winning shot. The victory meant more for him than a century. The hosts did miss Shannon Gabriel's services but don't think his presence would've made much a difference.
Something that really encapsulates this match is that the winning run came off a misfield. England have clinched the series emphatically and are clearly oozing in confidence. The chase went through a stutter after the spinning duo of Ashley Nurse and Devendra Bishoo exerted pressure on the visitors' batsmen and took five wickets among them.

ENGLAND ARE THROUGH! Short and outside off again, Root cuts it straight to point but the fielder fumbles and the ball goes through. The batsmen complete the required single and that is it. ENGLAND WIN BY 4 WICKETS AND CLAIM THE SERIES!
