That is it from this game. Afghanistan end the tournament in 7th spot. On 6th February 2020 we will have that one team who will face India in the finals. New Zealand face off with Bangladesh for that one spot. Do join us at 1000 local (0800 GMT). Till then take care and cheers.
Afghanistan skipper, Farhan Zakhil says that congratulations to the whole nation that they finished the tournament on a high. He says that Ghafari did well in bowling along with other bowlers and the opening batsmen took the onus on them to take the team to victory. He also says that Ibrahim Zadran played a responsible innings. Expectations was a lot as we were preparing for the tournament for the past 18 months. He also adds that the game with Pakistan was a good one as we focused on winning it. He adds that it feels good to end the tournament with a win.
South Africa skipper, Bryce Parsons says that it has been a good experience as they have learnt a lot and hopes that it helps them in their careers ahead. He adds that playing spin was a bigger challenge and he says that he himself did well to play it. Further says that most of the team members now head to their provincial sides after the tournament.
Shafiqullah Ghafari is the Man Of The Match. He says that the way he bowled in the first match was good. He also adds that the weakness of the South African batsmen is spin and that is why he could take 10 wickets in the two games against them in the tournament. He further says that in South Africa it is the pacers who have a say but he kept his cool and just focused on lines and lengths and that helped him reap rewards. Signs off by saying that it feels good to be a part of Afghanistan side and would love to give many such performances in the future.
Earlier in the day after opting to bat, South African batters could not back up their skipper's decision and struggled to get going. It looked like they would struggle to get to 150 but the trio of Jonathan Bird, Merrick Brett and Mondli Khumalo gave something for their bowlers to bowl at but in the end it was not enough. Shafiqullah Ghafari was the tormentor-in-chief as he picked up a 4-wicket haul, Fazal Haque too was excellent and picked up 3. Stay tuned for the presentations...
A spirited bowling performance from the South African bowlers but they just did not have enough runs to play with. Odirile Modimokoane was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 2 wickets. Parsons too had one but it was just enough for the hosts to instill further damage and the hosts had to bow out with a disappointing loss.
Chasing a below-par target of 155, Sediqullah got them off to a good start. He though departed after a quickfire 40. The visitors lost their way in the middle for a while as Farhan Zakhil and Rahmanullah Khan perished quickly. But Ibrahim Zadran played a steady knock with Abdul Rahman and calmed the nerves in the dressing room. They almost took their team over the finish line but the latter could not see off the game as a confusion between the two saw him walk back off due to a run out. Zadran though stayed till the end and took the side over the finish line.
A comprehensive win yet again for Afghanistan against South Africa and they finish the tournament on a high. A very poor end for South Africa. They finish the tournament, the way they started it - with a loss against this very side.

Tiaan van Vuuren To Mohammad Ishaq OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! That is a blinder. The skipper is into the act. He is not letting Afghanistan run away with it. Van Vuuren bowls one on fuller length and on middle and leg, Ishaq flicks it towards mid-wicket. He does not bother to keep it down as he plays it uppishly. Bryce Parsons, the South African skipper leaps towards the ball and takes it with a single hand. Brilliant stuff in the field from South Africa today. Just a couple more required for an Afghan win.
