That's it from us regarding this game. Bangalore's woes grow bigger while Punjab continue to fight hard for the playoff berth. The weekend has arrived and that means it's time for double headers. Tomorrow we will see Hyderabad hosting Pune at 1600 local (1030 GMT) which will be followed by Delhi hosting Mumbai at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Do tune in for all the action. Until next time, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
Sandeep Sharma (Man of the Match) says that he feels great to remove three top T20 players (Gayle, de Villiers and Kohli) in a single spell. Further adds that he is happy to contribute to a win. States that he has been focussing on the basics and looking to swing the ball by pitching it up. Maintains that having a great record against great batsmen like Gayle and Kohli is a huge boost for him. Reveals that the pitch did have some movement for him. Hopes that he can do his magic in the coming home games as well as he has a good record in Mohali just like he has in Bangalore.
Glenn Maxwell says that they did really well tonight. Credits Axar Patel's cameo with the bat in the end. Also praises his bowlers to defend such a low total against a mighty batting line-up. Adds that they have been on a good run but it's still a long way to go. Feels that they went too hard with the bat early on which backfired for them. Hopes to continue their form in Mohali and continue putting up such performances.
Virat Kohli says that he doesn't have any explanation for these performances. Feels nothing is going their way. Adds that preparation has been similar to last year's. Credits his bowlers but feels disappointed with his team's batting performance again. Informs that they tried to play with intent which didn't work for them either.
Sandeep Sharma's opening burst was brilliant as he claimed a 3-fer, bowling four overs on the trot to remove the big three batsmen of the opposition. The other bowlers too chipped in with Axar also getting a 3-fer to his name. It was a brilliant show from the all-rounder whose late blitz had given Punjab a respectable score to defend earlier in the evening. Punjab continue to stay alive in the playoffs race while Bangalore seem destined to finish at the bottom barring a miracle.
Brilliant win for Punjab. They weren't defending a big score but made optimum use of a sluggish surface to totally strangle Bangalore throughout. Mandeep Singh was the only batsman to get going as the more experienced names perished to shocking strokes. Pawan Negi threw his bat around lower down the order but the hosts fell well short in the end as they couldn't get a proper partnership going at all. If only a couple of batsmen had applied themselves, Bangalore could have got home but their performance was once again a reflection of the immense lack of confidence in the camp.

Mohit Sharma To Aniket Choudhary OUT!
OUT! Mohit Sharma completes the formalities. Slower back of a length delivery outside off. Choudhary looks to loft it over mid off but fails to get his timing right. The ball goes off the toe end of the bat towards Guptill, who makes no mistake. Once again Bangalore have been bowled out. This is the lowest total ever defended at this venue in the Indian T20 League. PUNJAB WIN BY 19 RUNS!

Axar Patel To Samuel Badree OUT!
OUT! Timber! Arm ball around off, Badree swings at it but misses it by miles. The ball goes through and hits the off pole. Two-in-two for Axar. What a game he is having! He is on a hat-trick now.
ANIKET CHOUDHARY is the new man in.

Axar Patel To Pawan Negi OUT!
OUT! Axar strikes straightaway! Axar bowls it short, angling away from Negi. The southpaw looks to go big but the ends up slicing it as the bat turns in his hands. The ball travels high in the air and there are two men going after it, Wriddhiman Saha and Varun Aaron. Both fail to call for the catch but Saha with the gloves on is the first one to reach to the ball and does well to pouch it safely even after a collision with Aaron. Negi departs and there goes any hopes of a Bangalore win.
