So that's it from us for this game. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. There is one more match coming your way, Punjab are hosting Gujarat. Action isn't far away. Switch tabs to catch up on all the updates from that game. Cheers!
Man of the Match, Sunil Narine says that he is really surprised by his knock today. Informs that Lynn told him to just keep eye on the ball and swing through the line of it. Admits that he backs his ability to hit the ball out of the park. Opines that the wicket he took of de Villiers was crucial to get the things back to normalcy. Applauds his team for putting in such a good effort.
Kolkata skipper, Gautam Gambhir opines that he hasn't seen such a partnership like that of Lynn and Narine in his entire career. Adds that no one expects a team to score over 100 runs inside the Powerplay. Praises Chris Lynn for his power hitting prowess even after coming back from an injury. Feels that Lynn is the hardest hitter of the cricket ball. Reckons that it was the team management's decision to open with Sunil Narine as it does not make sense for him to bat at number 8.
Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli says that they thought they had enough on the board but credits other teams for playing better. Calls it a season to forget. Admits that if the batting has clicked the bowling has not worked for them and vice-versa. Adds that things are just not coming together for them. Mentions that they have not put in a complete performance. Promises that things can't get worse and hopes that the team can perform better for the fans who come out in numbers.
Once the visitors turned out to bat, the wicket looked a totally different one. Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn started hammering everyone all around the park. The former registered the joint quickest fifty of the tournament ever while the latter also managed to score a half century on his comeback. They both stitched in a partnership of 105 runs in 37 balls to take the game away from the hosts. It was a mere formality but the visitors did lose a couple of wickets before crossing the line eventually.
Kolkata have totally dominated the game against Bangalore. After electing to bowl, they did really well to keep the hosts in control. Travis Head and Mandeep Singh made useful contributions after another dismal batting performance from the big guns for the hosts. Head finished things off well and the home side had a glimmer of hope.
