Right then, that is it from this game and Pakistan Champions join South Africa Champions at the top of the table with 3 wins to their name. There's still plenty of action to come in this tournament as we have another double-header lined up on Sunday, 28 July. The action will begin with a clash between two high-flying teams as South Africa Champions square off against Australia Champions. That game will begin at 5 pm IST (11.30 am GMT), but you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Cheers!
Shoaib Malik, the stand-in captain of Pakistan Champions, says that Kamran Akmal deserves this and he worked really hard, even on off days, he kept on hitting the nets and it paid off. On Mohammad Hafeez, Malik says that they will have a clearer picture in a day or so, as Hafeez will get some scans done and as for now, he is struggling with a hamstring issue. Adds that even if he doesn't play, they have other options, which is good. On the pacers, he says that they brought in the pacers to take the wickets and would ideally not want them to keep bowling four overs. Mentions that wins keep bringing smiles on the faces of everyone and ends by joking that they need one or two more physios, given the number of injuries they are facing.
The captain of West Indies Champions, Chris Gayle, says that Pakistan trumped them and Kamran Akmal played well. Adds that they had a couple of early chances that went down and a batter like Kamran will make you pay. Mentions that the opposition bowlers started off really well and didn't allow them to get into the contest. Goes on to say that they have one game left against India which is almost like a quarterfinal and maybe whoever wins that game will get into the semifinals.
Kamran Akmal is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his wonderful century..
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Pakistan Champions batted first and led by a sensational knock from Kamran Akmal, they managed to post a huge total on the board. Akmal hit a fluent century but the others kept losing their way after getting starts and they could have easily ended up with 15-20 runs more but still, 200 was a big total on the board. For West Indies Champions, their frontline bowlers struggled and the likes of Kieron Pollard had to come in and slow things down. Pollard and Dave Mohammed were economical and picked up a wicket each but overall, it wasn't the best performance as a bowling unit.
This is now the third loss for West Indies Champions in 4 matches and an opportunity to bolster their claim for the semi-finals has turned out to be a disappointing outing. All eyes were on Chris Gayle when he came out to bat but Dwayne Smith played a maiden first over and as the pressure started to mount, Gayle threw his wicket away, triggering a mini collapse. The top order failed but Chadwick Walton and impact player William Perkins led the fightback. The runs started to flow but the required rate went out of touch, even with the likes of Dwayne Bravo and Ashley Nurse making useful contributions.
Pakistan Champions had plenty of runs on the board but with someone like Chris Gayle in the opposition, you never know. Rumman Raees bowled a stellar spell early in the chase and picked up 3 wickets, including that of 'the Universe Boss,' and that ensured Pakistan were in control of the game. Sohail Tanvir was very economical early on and Aamer Yamin should plenty of skills in the middle phase as both of them ended with a couple of wickets each to round off a fine all-round display.
Signed, sealed and delivered! Pakistan Champions make it three wins out of four and all but seal their place in the playoffs. A complete performance from Pakistan as they out-batted and out-bowled West Indies Champions.

Sohail Tanvir To Dave Mohammed OUT!
OUT! TIMBER! A sight any seamer loves to see! Full and straight at the stumps, Dave Mohammed hangs back, clears the front leg and looks to tee off. However, the ball just sneaks through and smashes into the middle stump, which goes cart-wheeling off the ground. Pakistan Champions end proceedings in style and win the match by 49 runs!

Sohail Tanvir To Ashley Nurse OUT!
OUT! BOWLED'EM! Full and straight, a bit quicker too. Ashley Nurse charges down the track and looks to swing it away but loses his shape and the ball just swings back in to beat the bat and crash into the stumps. The stumps get shattered and Tanvir has his first wicket of the game. There is a No Ball check but replays confirm that Tanvir has some part of his foot behind the line.

Full and outside off, Bravo goes hard at it but only manages to get an inside edge. The ball tricklesbehind square leg and they pick up an easy single.
Well, the previous ball has been fetched back but it has definitely lost its shape and the fourth umpire is out with a box of balls. The on-field umpires choose one that is closest in wear and tear and we can continue.

Aamer Yamin To Dwayne Bravo
SIX! Wow, that is a howitzer from DJ Bravo! Length ball on the stumps, Bravo backs away and steps out before smashing it handsomely over extra cover for a biggie. That's gone through the gap between the stands and towards the Rugby ground behind. New ball, please!
