So with this, Hyderabad maintain their position in the top half while Punjab are still in the bottom half and would look to turn things around. Earlier in the day, Kolkata outclassed Delhi to remain at the top. Tomorrow we have another double header lined up for you. First it will be Pune hosting Bangalore at 1600 local (1030 GMT) and then in night at 2000 local (1430 GMT), it will be Gujarat taking on Mumbai in Rajkot. Till then, take care! Goodbye and goodnight!
Man of the Match, Rashid Khan thanks the Almighty first. Says it's a big stage and him performing here under the big names pleases him the most. Credits the Lankan legend, Muralitharan for supporting him. Opines he gets confidence and motivation from the coaching staff. Dedicates the award to his brother who has prayed for him a lot.
Hyderabad skipper, David Warner says that they wanted to come out with a positive mindset, which they did. Applauds the performance of Shaun Marsh. Is disappointed with the dropped chances tonight but says it was difficult under the lights and all the flies flying across. Credits Shikhar Dhawan for playing his natural game and putting some runs on board. Adds that Kane Williamson is an absolute champion and with him, they have found the right balance.
Punjab skipper, Glenn Maxwell is disappointed with the loss. Adds they were sloppy on the field as well as with the ball. Agrees good players do make you pay when you play both sides of the wicket. Feels they didn't get off to a good start which had a lot of tame dismissals. On Marsh, he says he's someone who's doing it since many years for Punjab and is happy to see him striking the ball well. Hopes they do the basics right in the next game.
Shaun Marsh, however, had other plans. He stood tall and looked to build a partnership with Eoin Morgan. The duo added 73 runs before the Englishman holed out. Marsh still carried on but the asking rate got the better of him in the end. Hyderabad were clinical with their bowling. Their three pacers - Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra and Siddarth Kaul shared 8 wickets among them. Rashid Khan once again was exceptional and ended with the figures of 4-0-16-1 and that too in a high scoring game. He has been such a revelation for them.
Hyderabad win their first away game this season. Solid knocks from their top order helped them post a total of 207. With such a huge target to get, Punjab needed to get off to a flier. Martin Guptill tried to provide that but departed just when he got into his groove. Manan Vohra failed to replicate his heroics of the reverse encounter and losing the skipper for nought made matters even worse.
