That is it from Semi Finals 1! It is New Zealand who head into the finals. Who will they be facing? It is either going to be England or Australia. The two battle it out on the 11th of July and the game starts at 1030 local (0930 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson, says it is a different feeling than the last semi finals they played. Further adds the guys have shown a lot of heart in this tournament and credits them for the fight they have shown. Tells they had to assess the conditions and the ball spun and they thought 250 would be a good score. Williamson informs they did not look to go too hard as that could have meant they ended up with 200-210. Informs the talk was regarding the conditions as to whether there was rain or not. Tells India are a world class side and can win matches from any position but he says the bowlers and fielders kept their nerves. Further adds, some of the games were tough as the conditions were tricky too. Also says they had to consider other things as well as otherwise the guys could have been disheartened. Tells in this tournament anything can happen. Williamson hopes that the fans back them in the finals too.
Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, says they were good in the first half with the ball. Says they thought they restricted New Zealand to a chasable total. Mentions they came today with confidence and felt they had momentum. Credits New Zealand bowlers for the way they bowled. States it was a skillful game and it was on display. Credits Jadeja for his knock and says it showed how good Jadeja is in all aspects of the game. Tells they were down and out but Jadeja kept them in hunt with his partnership with Dhoni. Reckons New Zealand won the crunch movements in this game. Further adds the only thing he could think about what went wrong was the shot selection. Ends by thanking the fans for their support.
MAN OF THE MATCH, Matt Henry, says they talked that they just needed to do their best. Tells they started off well with the ball and kept building pressure. Says they kept asking questions and kept building pressure. Henry says that pressure converted into wickets. Says they are a confident side and they knew India had world class finishers and they had to continue to build pressure and take wickets. On asking how it feels to be part of 2nd World Cup finals, Henry says he is looking forward to the finals at Lord's after being part of the team in the 2015 World Cup. Ends by crediting the crowd for their support.
Earlier in the day, New Zealand entered the second day of this one day (Reserve day as the rain played spoil sport on the 9th) 211 for 5 with a little less than 4 overs to go. They could not add too much but they managed to crawl their way to 240 which in the end proved to be enough.
A special mention for the way New Zealand fielded too! They stopped quite a few runs with their ground fielding. Yes, Neesham did drop one but he took an absolute blinder to get rid of Karthik and who can forget run out? That was probably the moment when all the hearts of the Indian fans was broken. Their performance in the field today is an indication of how important Fielding is!
The New Zealand bowling was just outstanding. Kane Williamson could not have asked more from his bowlers. A huge occasion, not a very big target to defend and they have stepped up to the occasion. They needed their opening bowlers to deliver and Boult and Henry did just that. They had India 4 down in Powerplay 1. The bowlers who bowled later also did a fine job. Especially Santner. He got rid of the two dynamic youngsters, Pandya and Pant and was extremely economical. Even in the death, when New Zealand were under pressure, their bowlers kept their nerve and ensured they book their place in the final.
What a defense this was! Especially against this strong Indian batting line-up. How many of you'll thought 240 would not be chased by the Indians? Yes, it was going to be tough for them but I never thought they would end up on the losing side. Their top order just failed to get the off to a start. The three who have been scoring so freely, Rohit, Rahul and Kohli failed to trouble the scorers a lot. Karthik then, took his own time to get in but fell to an outstanding catch. Pant and Pandya both crumbled under pressure, they got off to a start but then threw it away. India seemed down and out and 92 for 6 but then walked in Sir Jadeja. He looked positive right from the outset. He added a massive 116-run stand with Dhoni in which Jadeja was the aggressor and Dhoni was the one looking for the singles. The two revived Indian hopes but once the Ravindra fell, Dhoni too followed and then it was an impossible task for the lower-order.
NEW ZEALAND ARE THE FINALISTS! For the second successive ODI World Cup, it will be Kiwis who will fight for the title. Against all the odds they have out-muscled and out powered one of the favorites, India and have rightfully sealed their place in the finals. All smiles in their camp and on the faces of their players. India on the other hand, can't believe what just happened, nor can their fans. A few of them are in tears too. That is cricket though, there is one side which wins and there is one that loses. New Zealand were surely the better of the two sides.

Jimmy Neesham To Yuzvendra Chahal OUT!
OUT! There is a big edge and that is it, NEW ZEALAND ARE INTO THE FINALS! They win by 18 runs! Neesham gets the last man. Another slower one around off, Chahal goes for the heave across the line but the ball goes off the top edge towards the keeper who takes it by diving forward. An appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Chahal reviews and Ultra Edge shows that there is a spike.
Is that the end of the game? The umpire has given Chahal out caught behind but he has reviewed. There seems to bat though.

Jimmy Neesham To Yuzvendra Chahal
Edged but short! More importantly a dot. Even 4 boundaries won't do it. 4 biggies needed. Slower one outside off, Chahal swings but gets an outside edge which falls short of the keeper.

Jimmy Neesham To Yuzvendra Chahal
FOUR! Perfect start for India! Poor ball this with fine leg up. On the pads, Chahal flicks it to the fine leg fence. 5 more, India will be hoping for from Chahal.
Also, Jimmy Neesham to bowl the last over.
Jasprit Bumrah is the last man in.

Lockie Ferguson To Bhuvneshwar Kumar OUT!
OUT! Bowled! Brilliant from Lockie. He steams in and bowls a slower one at 121 kph. Bhuvneshwar is completely taken by surprise. He looks to defend but misses and the ball goes onto hit the off pole. What an over this has been! Yes the first ball went for a six, but that run out and this bowled has sealed the game for New Zealand. 23 needed off the last over.

Full on middle, Chahal flicks it to the right of mid-wicket. Chahal runs the first hard but he has to be happy with that because the fielder gets to the ball in a flash.

Full on off, Chahal cannot di much but just defend it to cover.
Yuzvendra Chahal walks out to bat now. Can he do something magical with the bat?

Lockie Ferguson To MS Dhoni OUT!
OUT! Dhoni is short! Out flashes on the big screen and New Zealand have probably ensured their place in the final. That sensational through has just broken so many Indian hearts. A direct hit is the only thing that could have got Dhoni there. Jadeja did it earlier in the day for India. Now Guptill returns the favor. This is a short delivery around middle, Dhoni goes for the pull but the ball skids on and Dhoni ends up mistiming it towards square leg. They take one, they had to go for a second. They do so. The bowler is seen running after the ball so there is no one at the stumps at either end. Colin though gets to the stumps at the striker's end. Guptill picks the ball up and fires it at the stumps at the striker's end. De Grandhomme does really well to not put his hand in the middle and it hits bull's eye. The Kiwi players are appealing and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays show that Dhoni is just short. New Zealand players are elated. Guptill is over the moon. Brilliant!
Is that the game for New Zealand? A direct hit from the deep and New Zealand feel Dhoni is short. The umpire has taken it upstairs.

Lockie Ferguson To MS Dhoni
SIX! That is brute power! The crowd is going bonkers. Outrageous. Ideal start to the over. This is short and it is a slower one outside off. Dhoni has to generate all the power. He waits for it and then slaps it over the cover fence for a biggie. 25 in 11.
Lockie Ferguson is back on!

Short ball on off, Dhoni pulls it right of deep mid-wicket. There was two on offer but Dhoni takes just one and one can understand why. Excellent over from Boult. 6 runs and more importantly the big wicket of Jadeja.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the new man in. His job will probably be to give Dhoni the strike but the question is, will Dhoni give him the strike?

Trent Boult To Ravindra Jadeja OUT!
OUT! Caught! Boult breaking Indian hearts here. This has been a world class over from Boult. He had gone for just 5 runs in this over. Jadeja had to go for it. Fuller on off, Jadeja swings his bat at it but he gets a top edge on that one. The ball goes high and to the right of mid off. Williamson moves to that side and keeps his eyes on the ball. In this pressure movement, the Kiwi skipper does well and holds onto the catch. End of a brave, courageous innings from Jadeja. His innings has seen India resurrect in this chase.
