Right then! India Women Under-19 won their game after a complete washout of the first game and went to the top of the table. Scotland Women have been pushed out of the race after the washout of their game and for Sri Lanka Women, they still have a do-or-die game against Australia Women. The ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup will be back again on the 27th of January, Monday with another exciting game between New Zealand Women and England Women that starts at 8 am IST (2.30 am GMT) but you can always join us early for all the pre-match excitement. Till then, have a nice day!
The captain of India Women Under-19, Niki Prasad says that she is really happy with their overall performance, giving a good show. On being asked about the opening bowlers, she mentions that it is the need for every team for the pacers to provide those early breakthroughs and set the tone forward. Says that their preparations have been really good and they just try to reflect the same when they take the field. Ends up saying that they will just try to get better and better every game.
The captain of Bangladesh Women Under-19, Sumaiya Akter says that the top order has been a problem for them in this entire tournament and that is one thing they wanna overcome as soon as possible. She further adds that the run-outs were very costly for the side and it was not at all professional from the team's perspective. She mentions that India is a strong team and they were the better side in the two, today.
... TIME FOR THE PRESENTATIONS ...
Vaishnavi Sharma is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her outstanding bowling display. She says that she is feeling very delighted. Mentions that the pacers make the job much easier for the spinners by dominating in the opening overs. She says that she tries to keep it simple and just tries to keep the line of attack on the stumps.
India Women Under-19's batting started off strong as Trisha Gongadi went on to score a quickfire 40 for her side and just took the wind out of the sails of the Bangladeshi bowlers. Sanika Chalke also joined her after the dismissal of Kamalini G and the two batters took the game away from the Bangladesh Women Under-19 bowlers altogether. India won the game comfortably in just 7.1 overs with 8 wickets intact. A good day at the office for the girls and the management surely will be a happy one on the Indian side.
Good decision from the India Women Under-19 to bowl first under the circumstances on an overcast sky. Bangladesh Women Under-19 were on the back foot from the start itself after losing 3 quick wickets. Vaishnavi Sharma then picked up 3 wickets for herself, climbing up to the top of the wicket-takers list in the tournament. The Bangladesh Women Under-19 middle order was taken by surprise and after some resistance from the lower order, Bangladesh managed a first-innings score of 64/8 after batting the whole 20 overs.
India Women Under-19 clinch up a good win against Bangladesh Women Under-19, putting a better performance in all three parts of the game. Chasing down 65 in 7.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand takes the Indian team to the top of the table, equalling the points with Australia, and staying ahead on the net run rate!

Habiba Islam Pinky To Trisha Gongadi OUT!
OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Trisha wanted to wrap things in style but walks away offering a simple catch in the deep. This is bowled fuller in length, just outside off, Trisha Gongadi tries to kill the game by lofting it aerially over the cover region. But doesn't find the middle of the bat as it twists in her hands at the point of contact. Hence, the ball slices it straight into the hands of Nishita Akter Nishi stationed at deep extra cover. She runs a few yards to her left and grabs it safely. Trisha Gongadi departs for a quickfire 40 (31).
